I Saw A Man Who Wasn't There Novels & Stories

He smiled walking out and leaving me in dazed I slump down on the chair "Like what just happened, who is he talking about?" I ask myself looking around, I suddenly felt chills on my body, I felt like a pair of eyes was watching me in secret, I looked around the club but saw nothing…. Everybody was busy, "What's happening," I ask myself, getting uncomfortable. I tried focusing on my cup of Cappuccino, but heck! I can't suddenly I look back at the spot the huge guy pointed earlier, I could see a man, seating gracefully on a chair but damn….I can't even see his body features, only his shadows which look fucking hot, I thought licking my lips unawares

I shook my head and rubbed my eyes to clear my vision and when I opened them again, he was already gone. Was he really there? Or was it just my hallucination?

There, standing across the street just beyond the mouth of an alleyway, half-drenched in shadow and bathed in the orange hum of a dying streetlamp, was him. At first, I thought it was my mind playing tricks on me again. Another mirage, another memory I'd painted over some stranger's face out of wishful delusion. My brain had done it before, seen Sargis in the curve of a shoulder, in a profile, or in a voice caught in the wind. But this time... I blinked. And he was still there.

I was asked to return three days after the result. I kickstarted my car and I don't know if it was some sort of hallucination, but I could swear I saw someone by my windscreen just now. I looked through the car mirror but there was no one there. “I better not be losing my mind just yet.” I muttered silently and drove off.

When I noticed what was in front of my car, my eyes widened, and I almost jumped out of the car. “Who the hell are you?” I stuttered, pointing at the man standing in front of my car. He looked exactly like Kane, and he had the exact smirk on. “Am I hallucinating?” My heart pounded, and my eyes quickly looked around, searching to see if other people in the streets could testify that I wasn't seeing things. When I looked back at the front of my car, Kane was no longer there. I bent my neck slightly, and I arched my brows.

"I don't know you! I've never seen you before in my life!" The man's smile faded, replaced by something darker. "Really? You're going to play this game with me?" "I'm not playing anything!" I was getting scared now. This man clearly thought he knew me, thought we had some kind of agreement, but I had no memory of him at all. "You have me confused with someone else."

At the edge of the crowd, a grinning man stood staring at me. People passed within a few feet of him, but didn’t seem to notice that he was there. I watched in mounting horror as a group of teenagers walked directly towards him. He didn’t move out of their way, but they stepped around him automatically, despite the fact that they didn’t look at him once. It was like he was invisible to them. My eyes locked with his and his grin split even wider. It was the same man with the glowing eyes that I had seen in the garden outside of my window. He was there. There was no way that I was hallucinating this. He was standing completely still and looking into my eyes.

I increased my steps in order to catch a glimpse of the man but he quickly disappeared in to the distance, like he didn’t want to be seen by me. “Was I hallucinating? That’s Adrian! I can recognize his figure even in my sleep…” I muttered, still looking at the spot he’d disappeared to.

he said. “W-wait something's weird is happening,” I said as I closed my eyes. I can see myself sitting down and the guy in front of me. I tried to look at my arms but it was only pitch black. I don't have my freaking hands! This is freaking confusing because the me that I was seeing distance away from me was the one who was looking into his arms. Like I was a damn ghost watching my body move on its own. "Am I a ghost?" I asked the man and he shook his head as a no.

It felt so big that I swallowed hard. His eyes traced my gaze, and when he saw where it was focused, he smirked and winked at me seductively. I was taken aback. Did he just wink at me? I screamed, my heart beating with so much joy. I didn’t know when I stepped down from the bed, but I found myself standing and looking out of my window. Surprisingly, the dude wasn’t there anymore. I looked and searched around just to catch a glimpse of him again, but there was no one there. It was as if he just disappeared into the cool breeze of the night. It felt like he was never there in the first place.
