I tilt my chin higher, though my body quivers. The torches crackle, flare, and then gutter, their flames guttering into tongues of green fire that spit shadows across the walls. Each lick of flame warps the banners, melting their wolves into smears of ink. The chamber bends and breathes as though it has lungs of its own.

Above the burning horizon, a crown of Flame—wreathed in smoke, molten and impossible—flickered into view. Suspended for a single heartbeat and then gone.

I was pinned down but, I would fight with everything in me. I reached out to Rudolph through my mind and gave a mental image of everything. I knew now why I felt so connected to him. His eyes burned with a malevolent fire that chilled even the heart of the coldest winter. “So, the flame and frost queen falters,” the Shadow Lord sneered, voice thick with contempt. “Your shadow is mine to command.” Lyra squared her shoulders, her heart pounding but her spirit unyielding. “I carry my shadow. Not yours.” With a deafening roar, the battle escalated. The Shadow Lord twisted shadows into deadly weapons, striking with ruthless precision. Lyra parried and countered, her blade blazing with fused fire and frost, sparks flying as ancient forces collided in a violent dance.

Malachi, eyes scanning the horizon, suddenly pointed, "There, in the distance! A shadow, out of place amidst this luminescence." The guardians followed his gaze, and indeed, a dark form seemed to be approaching, its energy clashing with the radiant vibes of the grove. Isolde, her instincts kicking in, said, "We need to intercept, and understand its intentions." Liora, holding out her hand, produced a gentle orb of light. "Let's use this to guide the shadow, lure it closer." The shadow, drawn to Liora's orb, began to take a more defined shape as it neared — a cloaked figure, its face hidden, emanating an aura of chaos and disruption.
