Novel & Cerita Flashes Before My Eyes

“I want them to feel it.” I smiled, feeling my plan take hold. “They will,” I said. “We’ll plan it together. But you need to rest now. That headache means you pushed yourself too hard tonight.” She touched her temple, wincing slightly. “It’s better,” she said, her voice softer. “But I keep seeing things. Dancing, when I was little. It’s blurry.” My stomach twisted, but I kept my face calm. “That’s normal,” I said, lying smoothly. “After what you’ve been through, those flashes will come and go. Don’t focus on them. Focus on us, on what we’re building.”

I shift maybe an inch, maybe less, but the pain that follows is enough to make my vision flash white behind my closed eyes. “Fuck…” the voice breathes. That word. That tone. Something inside me twists. I know that. I know that. My eyes open. Just a fraction. Light hits too hard, too fast. Everything blurs instantly, shapes bleeding into each other. I blink. Once. Twice. The world struggles to come into focus. There’s a ceiling above me. Not the same one. Not the one with the flickering light. This one is cleaner. Brighter. Different.

Sylvia pressed her eyes against each other. While her brain was picking up a burning sensation, her nostrils were inhaling the scent of medication. She was on her back, facing the white ceiling. She shut her eyes and soon, she was having flashes of her accident. She recollected standing with Morris on a safe path and the next thing was a sport emanating out of nowhere and then it ran into her.

He said and I widen my eyes Oh shit! I suddenly felt the urge to throw up and I did. Black dots started to appear in front of me when I saw something that I don't want too but I saw clearly. Same blue eyes from my nightmares…

I whisper, trying to explain to my mind what I might be seeing. She ignores me and looks at the words on the screen. After about five seconds, the screen disappears. She again presses a button, but this time a yellow one. Three beeps sound out, and multiple lights begin to flash over me. As they flash, they change color and grow in brightness until I have to shut my eyes. As soon as my eyes close, my other senses begin to focus on what is happening to my body.

I gripped the steering wheel tighter, trying to focus on the road, but the pain intensified, blurring my vision. The rain was coming down in sheets, turning the road into a slick, treacherous surface. The headlights of oncoming cars were blinding, making it nearly impossible to see. My vision swam, the world tilting precariously, and then, everything went black. (Flashback Ends) I pressed my fingers to my throbbing temples, trying to quell the renewed wave of pain. The memory, incomplete and distorted, left me feeling disoriented and vulnerable. I turned away from the mirror, determined to focus on the present, to regain control.

A flash of light behind my eyes. And then I see total darkness.

Try as I might, but I only hear a slur of sounds. A bright light suddenly flashed in my eyes causing me to quickly shut my eyes in pain. Tears welled up and dripped down the sides of my face. What was that? When the pain subsides I slowly open my eyes again. I can see everything clearly now. There isn’t a haze over my eyes, but I wish there was. The first thing I see is some sort of organic orb floating over my head shining a light down on me.

Tears prickle at the corners of my eyes but they refuse to fall from my eyes and the dark void finally consumes me. Just when it feels like nothing of me will be left, a tiny blip of light flickers behind my eyelids. My body surges backwards like it is being pulled by a rope. Visions flicker past me like I am traveling through time. Suddenly my body comes halting to a stop and my back hits something hard. Slowly opening my eyes I stare at the world around me that I once knew.

The flashes got faster and faster before they added flashes of different disasters, both manmade, supernatural, and natural. I fight it as much as I can, but the flashing is starting to drive me insane and allowing the wildness within me to surface and take control. I don’t know how long I was within that flashing room when it suddenly stopped and the small door opened. I felt that sting in the back of my neck and the familiar burning before I passed out.
