Volar loomed dimly along the horizon like a gloomy giant, while the moon and Lats hung close together, slightly overlapping, as if dancing.

On the platform stood a large, incredibly soft sofa piled with cushions; on the floor lay a huge fur rug. Along the perimeter of the terrace, small dwarf trees and flowers grew in planters. There was also a small table laden with pleasantly scented food and vessels of wine. Above us, some kind of garlands were strung, glowing with soft light—but when I looked closer, I saw that they were actually small glass containers filled with some liquid, around which dozens of tiny, bright fireflies were swirling.
