Theon's next move, I knew, was to use Nixie. He planned to have her plant poisonous flowers throughout the hunting grounds and lace the river streams with toxins. These herbs were odorless, undetectable by the wolves until it was too late – a single sniff of a flower or a drink from the river would mean a slow, agonizing death.
Nixie's smile falters, her eyes widening in surprise. "How—" she stammers.
"And those same flowers," I press on, my voice laced with steely resolve, "were they the ones you tried planting in the garden as well?"
