Alpha Orion
Orion stalked forward, following the trace of her scent through the thick crowd until he found her pink backpack half-buried near a snack stall, the zipper half open and their photos strewn all over the dirt, but her stuffed rabbit was missing.
He crouched slowly, gathering everything gently. A smear of dirt streaked the fabric of the pack, and next to it, there were faint drag marks in the dust, too small for an adult and too erratic for calm movement.
A muscle in his jaw jumped as his hands trembled, not with fear, but with something darker, but he held back; he needed to find her first, and losing control wouldn't help.
He tracked the scent to the service gate at the edge of the park. Bey
