The rogue gasped, its grin finally faltering as fear flickered in its eyes. “You’re too late,” it whispered, its voice shaking slightly. “The Blood Moon will rise and when it does, you’ll lose everything.”
Ren’s grip tightened, his claws extending slightly as his wolf surged forward. “What do you mean?”
“You’ll see,” the rogue hissed, its grin returning. “But by then, it won’t matter.”
A low growl rumbled in Ren’s throat, and he fought to keep his wolf in check. The rogue’s defiance was like gasoline on an open flame, but he couldn’t let it consume him.
