Ruby glared at me. "I don't need you to tell me who I can be friends with." she snapped. I was about to yell back but Foxy cut me off. "He's right, Ruby. Those guys are no good. They deal drugs and hurt people. They treat girls awfully too. I don't want you to get hurt by them. They may seem nice at first but they will harm you as soon as you let your guard down." Foxy explained, calmly. Ruby looked at her in disbelief but Hound, Don, Jackal and Scarlett all nodded in agreement.

Lisa’s hands trembled as she sifted through the ancient texts in the folder. The weight of what Mia had uncovered pressed down on her like a physical force. The information before her was a tangled web of botanical knowledge, ancient rituals, and dark secrets. The *Sopor Veritas* was not just rare—it was an artifact of a bygone era, used in ceremonies that involved mind control, trances, and, in some cases, death.

Positioned between them, she felt safe. The walkway, the unkept cracks filled with lichen, was strewn with fallen leaves that crunched as they stepped on them. The front stoop consisted of a cement step and poured slab porch, the faded welcome mat reminding visitors to wipe their feet. The door to the home was intriguing. Made of wood, someone had taken the time to carve, in intricate detail, images and symbols.

It was mid-morning by the time Jack reached the building. The Link practically screamed at him now, pulling him forward towards it. He?crouched down behind a crumbling concrete wall. Two painted men stood outside the front entrance of an old office building holding some pathetic looking stone-age weapons. The flash of ceiling tiles suddenly made sense.
