Beasts are mutated animals with extreme intelligence, they can sense and find prey weaker than them and hunt them, if they find prey stronger than them they use different methods to hunt the prey, every beast can become strong by preying on other animals and hibernating as it increases their mutation level making them strong. A beast's power is measured by its mutation level. Level 10 beasts are capable of killing 10 humans and a level 1 beast is capable of immobilizing a human and if left they can completely kill the human and there are also level 100 beasts that rarely come out of their hiding and they are capable of destroyin

Suyi thought that the beast she would be fighting was the same as the ones she had fought for the past few minutes. But it seemed that she was doomed to fail the very first mission she took. Although souls can no longer die except being dissolved to nothingness, against a beast, they could be captured and trapped as a source for their power. It is either you kill the beast, or the beast will suck your soul away.
