Haunter

All the doors on the first floor started slamming open and shut. Mike and Susan were holding each other tight in abject terror, eyes wide open jumping from one slamming door to the next. “Library, please!” I called out, leaving the east parlor toward the other end of the hallway. The slamming stopped, and my footsteps weren’t the only ones creaking on the floorboards. The library door opened for me and closed again. For the first time ever, I felt the electricity in the air all those Youtubers talked so much about. I realized it mean upset or angry ghosts around.

Horror Nights

He was lying face down, and face up, all at once. I live in that house now. I am the village "fixer." And every night, I listen to the scratching beneath the floorboards. I don't fear the ones that crawl. I fear the ones that wait. Because now I know that the most terrifying thing in the world isn't death—it’s a corpse that refuses to close its eyes.

Fearing Fate

Fearing Fate

Everyone here believes that I am a cousin of Andre and Ophelia, and that I lost my parents during the plague, which isn’t a complete lie. Sage was one of my first friends here. I was the awkward new girl who moved here during the peak of the plague. I was distraught from losing my mother, being separated from my sisters and father. I didn’t know who to trust. Sage sat next to me my first day of school here and immediately started talking to me about unicorns being real. I didn’t even spare her a glance, but she kept talking for a solid 3 minutes about the possibility of unicorns being real.

at first I thought this was going to be the same as all the other stories. dumb main characters with a jealous girl who wants what isn't hers. I was wrong. this book was fantastic. I'm so happy I stuck it out and can't wait until the next book is finished to read.

Murder Charges Over a Missing Order

Murder Charges Over a Missing Order

" But inside, my feelings were a tangled mess. Sure, I was scared, but under the fear, there was this strange rush of pleasure. Fred was dead. The guy who'd laughed at me… was dead. And the way he died—his mouth torn into a grotesque smile—was just like the smirk he wore when he was watching my humiliation. There was no way that was a coincidence. Absolutely no way. "Do you think the killer's gonna keep going?" someone whispered. "Probably. It's starting to look like a serial killer." "Doesn't that mean we're all in danger?" "I don't know, but we should all be extra careful for the next few days. Don't walk around alone at night." I lowered my head and pretended to read as I listened to them

THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION

THE ALPHA'S ADDICTION

He could sense a fourth one around, but already, he knew that it was the fledgling, Yodah - was still one till he turned eighty. Inside the library, Freya felt fear slam into her, the emotion beating in her head, swamping her, driving out the heavy, trancelike cobwebs. Someone was distraught, crying, feeling pain as sharp as a knife. She staggered to her feet, clutched at the back of a chair. Images pushed in. A young woman with pale, white skin, a large stake protruding from her chest, blood running in rivers, her head detached from her body, something sickening placed in her mouth. A ritual killing, symbolic, a warning of others to come. A serial killer, here, in this land of peace.

"You are so weird with your chips." He stuck his tongue out at me. "Anyway, since I'm being honest, I'll tell you why I've been going to see the witches. It's because of my fear of rodents. I've been so embarrassed about it my whole life and my dad and grandpa shit on me for it all the time. So when I found out that witches can hypnotize you to get rid of your worst fears, well, sign me right up!" "Why are you so scared of rodents?"

Frequently Asked Questions

R.L. Stine's 'Fear Street' series is this massive, nostalgic rabbit hole for me—I grew up devouring those books under my bedsheets with a flashlight. After digging through my old collection and cross-checking with fan wikis, I can confidently say he wrote around 51 original titles under the main series, not including spin-offs like 'Fear Street Sagas' or 'Fear Street Super Chillers.' The way Stine blended teen drama with slasher vibes was revolutionary for YA horror in the '90s. I still get chills remembering how 'The New Girl' played with unreliable narration.

What's wild is how prolific Stine was—he'd sometimes release multiple books a year! The series had everything: summer camp massacres, possessed prom queens, even a trilogy about a cursed boarding school ('The Fear Street Cheerleaders'). Though the original run ended in 1999, the recent Netflix adaptations brought new fans crawling back to used bookstores. My personal grail? Tracking down the rare 'Fear Street Nights' trilogy with those glossy black covers.
