Beyond Fate

Beyond Fate

She opened her mouth, but He cut in, gently. “Correction—you all were made to leave Earth.” She didn’t argue. “I heard you’ve been giving out unsolicited advice,” He smirked. “Nothing gets by you, does it?” she said, folding her arms. “I thought I’d return the favor.” He turned, serious now. “Two words.” She waited. “Free will.” She tilted her head. “Go on.” “You are powerful, yes. Full of grace. But allow your fates—your children—to make their own choices. Let them live under your reign, not your rule.”

Inevitable

Inevitable

Do you know the definition of Free Will? Here's a reminder: it's the free, unconstrained will. What about Fate? 1. power that irrevocably determines the course of events. 2. All the events that make up the life of a human being (often considered as resulting from causes distinct from his will). Do you see what I'm getting at ? No ? One doesn't go with the other! And in my world, free will doesn't seem to be winning. Not for lack of trying! But I screwed up...

The Lycan's Contract Bride

The Lycan's Contract Bride

"I would give them the choice. You're taking it away." "Choice is an illusion. Physics determines everything—every particle interaction, every quantum collapse, every thought in your brain. Free will is just ignorance of causation." "Then why are we having this conversation? If choice doesn't exist, why try to convince me?" Marcus stood, and reality warped around him. The garden began aging rapidly—flowers wilting, trees decaying, stone crumbling to dust. "Because even illusions have power. Your illusion of hope is slowing entropy's work. Making the inevitable take longer, hurt more."

Wolf Queen

Wolf Queen

Alliances, Powerful Heirs and a sustainable legacy. They truly believed that they could control fate. The entire thought that mates were pre-destined was a farce. The Goddess controlled many things, but choice was not one of them. Free Will was their most sacred aspect of life, the one right they were born with and the one they would die with. To take away choice was to take away their most basic rights. It had happened before time and time again. Females were always seen as less than males. Helpless and Pathetic.

The Wrong Type of Free

The Wrong Type of Free

He holds it for exactly three beats longer than someone with nothing to hide would, then drops his gaze back to his plate without any change in expression. I file that away. “You were convicted on a single count,” the mayor says, reaching for the bread. It doesn’t sound accusatory, just conversational, the way men like him discuss things that would make other people uncomfortable. “No priors. The prosecutor’s notes described you as…what was the phrase.” He thinks for a moment. “Peripheral involvement.” “That was their assessment,” I say. He nods slowly. “And yours?” I pick up my fork. “I was in the wrong place making wrong choices for what felt like the right reasons at the time.”

Lost & found: A Sister Reclaimed

Lost & found: A Sister Reclaimed

"That part was unexpected. The emotional attachment, the genuine partnership, not programmed, not planned, entirely emergent behavior." Rowan's fists clenched, knuckles going white. "You don't get to take credit for who she became. You created conditions, she made choices." Hale studied him for a long moment, something that might have been respect showing in his expression. "Actually..." He paused, letting the moment build. "...I do. Conditions are everything. Free will operates within constraints I established." My voice cut through the tension, clear and controlled. "You think this ends with me walking away with you. Getting on one of those helicopters and l

Her Four Possessive Wolves

Her Four Possessive Wolves

Dargan narrowed his brows at me, disdain clouding his features. "If that was true, you wouldn't stiffen slightly at the mention of his name," He growled and stood. "But you made your choice and so long as you keep choosing him and this life, we won't pressure you. Free will is a luxury given to few and now you are one of them." Dargan headed for the door, exiting before I could ask him what he meant.

Great story & characters, & absolutely loved the style of writing - broken/fragmented sentences that drive action & thoughts, so unique! Wish I wasn't left asking about some open-ended plotlines (Desert Sun, king's heirs, Felix, Albert & Mariposa, etc.), but assuming sequel books will address them?

Ravaged: An End of Days Novel

Ravaged: An End of Days Novel

"Freya was at that time, doing what she has continually done. As she has always attempted to do—changing fate so I could not know. Unfortunately," "While you and her both weave fate of all man, it up to them, to decide on how to act." She smiled back at me. "Free will." "Exactly my lady. Exactly." I agreed with her. "She knows what she is, and wants to join the fight, yet, until she frees herself from Freya's poison, she cannot do that—well not without her knowing." "Will she seek help of her friends?"

Love Me Then Destroy Me

Love Me Then Destroy Me

I finished the letter. Freedom is not the absence of connection - you said that, and I have been understanding it better as each month passes. I had always thought freedom meant independence from need. I now understand it means the presence of genuine choice, and that genuine choice requires that the people around you are not quietly engineering the cost of the alternatives.
