"You are like a sister to me, Frey. Nothing could ever make me hate you." Freya smiled gratefully at her reassurance and then blew out a breath. "Fine, here's the whole truth," she said finally and began to narrate everything, leaving no details out. She told us about her pack, her family, the ball and how she was banished for getting marked by a man she knew nothing about. "Is all this even... real?" Elena said with a confused expression. "I mean it's not like I doubt that you're telling the truth, Frey, but... packs? Wolves? You're saying it's all real?"

Declan’s words traveled through my ears and a sharp pain cut through my heart immediately. The council fell into a wave of mutterings as necks flung and gossips rolled around. “You don’t know what you are saying, son. You can’t possibly be mated to a traitor of the pack!” I screamed. My eyes bulged out of their sockets, and I gritted my teeth in annoyance. “Freya isn’t a traitor. Her father was, and she is not him!” He fired back at me, and my jaw dropped in shock.

She bowed her head and left the company. When she arrived home, her so-called parents were already waiting for her. Their faces were burning with anger. Lima rushed toward her and grabbed her hand. "Why didn't you pick up our calls?" Freya yanked her hand, walked past her, and headed to the stairs. She totally ignored Killian. "You dare to avoid your mom like that?" Killian yelled from the corner of the living room. Freya stopped at the first step but didn't turn to them. Her voice was calm and relaxed. "What's wrong, Dad? Did the Hayes family not agree to the marriage proposal? Did they reject Evica directly?"

After Freya had a brief meeting with Xaden, she went back to her room and laid down on her bed, thinking about the risks involved in what she had gotten herself into. But still, she wanted to see to it to the end. If truly Logan was a son of a bitch, then it would be fortunate for her that she had planned ahead and would definitely scale through any attack against her or Xaden because right now, the one who she saw as her worst enemy seemed to make her feel like he would be a great ally.

Freya's eyes filled with tears as she watched her namesake father who down casted his eyes affirming her words. And it was indeed true, she was never the part of his real family.
