You told me you love being my best friend because I'm so old-fashioned, so prove it.) I am not doing anything sketchy. So, please do not follow me around. I promised you that I had changed, didn't I? Please, just focus on taking care of your sick boyfriend. I will be fine.

IT MAKES ME GIDDY INSIDE. He clears his throat, "Hey, we don't have to be so awkward to each other. Can we just move on?" Easy for him to say. I take my hands off my face. "Can I read the letter aloud?" He asks me while scanning through the letter I gave to him. "Yes! It is yours," I exclaim. He opens the letter and read it loudly while sitting beside me. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEONEL. I WISH YOU THE BEST FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY AND KNOW THAT I AM ALWAYS BE YOUR ANNOYING FRIEND THAT YOU LIKE THE MOST.

I ran to the drawer where her letters were, opened it and picked up the letters. The first one that I picked was her resignation letter. I put it on the table and picked the second letter, the one she wrote to me. I tore the envelope hurriedly and brought out the letter Dear Lexi, How are you? I hope you are doing great. The last time that I asked you such a question was like a thousand years ago. That is what it feels like. Even though you consider me your enemy, I still consider you my best friend because you're my best friend and you will always be my best friend.

It had my name scribbled on it. Picking it up from the table, I unwrapped an opened it. A letter. It was a letter. Weird. Who still writes letters and waybill them these days? "Dear sir, I wish you a day filled with joy, smile and laughter. I know I won't be able to stop or end the pain you're feeling. I only wish I can. You're as important to me as even my own life. I miss you and your letters, I miss hearing what you have to say about anything and everything. I wish I was with you right now. I really just need to hold you in my arms. I'm overjoyed to know that I have true friends that are always willing to help. I consider myself fortunate to have them because such a nice friend is hard to come by. It makes no difference if you have a large or small number of friends. What counts is that they are genuine in their approach to you. My heart poured into the words, and I pressed send, grateful for the chance to express my feelings. "Kevin, your note means the world to me. I don't know what I would do without you. Despite the tension and the unspoken desires, I knew that Kevin would continue to be a constant presence in my life. Our friendship was unbreakable, and I couldn't help but smile through my tears, feeling grateful for the unwavering support and love he had always given me.
