Not lifeless. But hushed. Like this place had been asked—gently but firmly—not to grow. Grass became gravel, then grey stone, then something stranger. The sky dimmed, not from cloud but from expectation. Like it, too, was holding its breath. Then they saw it—the Ashglass Shore. A vast stretch of cracked, gleaming stone. Black glass etched with veins of fire long cooled, but not forgotten. The air shimmered faintly as they walked across it, their reflections bending in ways light shouldn’t allow.

the voice continued. “Who are you?” Kelly asked in return. “We are the San, and you belong to us,” the voice echoed and sounded like it was coming at her from the very grains of sand beneath her feet. It rumbled all around her as she began to sink into the sand. It was rapid and Kelly’s heart dropped into her stomach, and she sank deeper and deeper into the sand. She tried to scream for help, but her lungs filled with sand. And the air around her turned to ash.

I told him. “Now it is in it.” he said after few seconds. “Sandy! Sandy are you still angry at me?” I asked with little high tone so that she can hear even when she is far away. “Ofcourse not Asha. I should ask you for forgiveness. I behaved so badly towards you. I am so sorry.” Sandy replied. “I can understand Sandy. Just forget about it. Now tell me are you angry?” I asked her. “I am. I am so much angry that I want to kill him with my bare hands.” She replied and what I felt in her voice is not angry. It is just pain.

Ashley hoped this assault wouldn't last long; it arrived in the form of an advancing surface of sand and debris; which may be miles wide and several thousand feet high. The runes pulsed like a heartbeat. The shadow paused just beyond the circle. It had no clear form, but hints of a muzzle and claws flickered in and out of existence, as if it couldn’t quite decide what it was. The flames consumed the letter quickly, reducing it to ash in seconds, and I let the remains fall to the table in a blackened heap. Ashes. Just like everything else in this cursed palace. I stormed out of the throne room, my footsteps heavy and my thoughts darker than the night itself. The halls were quiet, too quiet, and every echo of my boots against the stone reminded me of how alone I truly was about to become.
