The Nun's Lustful Desire
"You were celebrating five minutes ago."
He says nothing. He can't. His teeth chatter so hard that no words can come out.
“Please.” The first voice is barely a whisper.
I straighten.
Frost spills from my feet, crawling over the red banners, the plates of cold meat and spilled wine, the fiddle still lying in the snow where it fell. The air smells of smoke, roasted meat, and sharp winter cold.
“Please, my lord.” Another drops to his knees.
Then another.
Soon, everyone is on the ground, sinking into the white snow I made, their faces pale, their lips blue.
