No sound came, not even shouts or footsteps. My heart made the loudest sounds. I was breathing in loud pants with how hard it drummed and it frustrated me. I knew I had to calm it down but I just couldn’t get my heart to slow down. Sweat coated my forehead, everything pounding. A voice told me to give up. I was tired. I didn’t want to feel such fear.
