I breathed, feeling truly relaxed for the first time in days.
"Indeed," Lucas agreed, but when I glanced up at him, I realized he wasn't looking at the beach at all. His eyes were fixed on me, filled with an intensity that made me uncomfortable.
I cleared my throat, breaking the moment. "Why did you bring me here, Lucas?" I asked, continuing our walk along the shoreline.
He was quiet for a moment, seemingly gathering his thoughts. "I needed to show you that the Greys aren't as terrible as the rumors make them out to be," he finally said. "Especially Damien. He's... he's been through a lot."
