By the time she opened her eyes and let go of both girls’ hands, a chuckle escaped her lips.

We trailed out the front door, and down the pathway to the backyard. Our bare feet barely made a sound as we walked through the grass. With every step, I felt a little jolt of power from the Earth. She pulled away, and I felt the loss.

I turn and look at Gaia, who smiles as she steps forward. “I am Gaia, the daughter of Fenrir. I am the Goddess of Hell. Trust me when I say I will unleash the gates and you all will perish. The humans will be wiped from existence. Maybe that isn’t a bad thing.” She shrugs as she addresses the room and I stay silent.

Gaia’s father. “We ready?” Gaia asks and Rosa grabs the book and nods her head as Gaia opens a portal and steps through it. I follow with Rosa. Odessa and Asteria were behind us. The wolves of Dark Moon stop what they are doing and bow to Gaia. “Rosa!” I look up and see Alpha Nicholas running towards us. Alpha Nicholas is Rosa’s uncle and Gaia’s twin brother. He wraps her up in his arms and she sobs on to his chest.

He unwrapped Cade’s present first, revealing a beautifully crafted leather journal. “For you to pen down all your thoughts and plans,” Cade explained, smiling proudly. “This is perfect, Cade. Thank you,” Alpha Grayson said, his voice filled with appreciation. Next, he opened Gaia’s gift, which contained an intricately designed pocket watch. “So you can always keep track of time, no matter how busy you get,” Gaia said, her eyes sparkling with joy.

“Okay, let’s just say that he is not as crazy as we think and that he’s actually right. So what?” I wanted to correct him by telling him that Thanos, or what I usually called by his fake name Rob, was not crazy but in the end, I decided against it and simply continued with what I had been wanting to say. “So that book does exist.” I took a sharp breath and I could swear the wind blew a bit stronger when I said, “The Book of The Damned. It does exist. And according to Thanos, Gaia’s key is the key to unleash its power.”
