My eyes widen as I realise Asteria is projecting the incident from yesterday, what Gaia saw and what she said. Gaia’s eyes look at the images and her chest heaves and with each heave the black smoke grows as she loses her temper. Asteria smiles at her as we watch her fight for control. As Gaia pulls the smoke back into her palm, controlling and manipulating it making it dance along her fingers.

It may have been my imagination, but I thought that the presence of that fourth world made everything look more stable… “This fourth world was called Gaia. As you all know, when Gaia imploded, it caused rips in the dimensions that affected the three nearest worlds that shared its borders. It caused massive changes—and the one that concerns us now would be the Anomalies. The common belief is that the Gaia Incident created the Anomalies. But Anomalies have existed in Gaia even before the Incident occurred."

I saw mothers weeping over empty wooden bowls. "This is the Earth’s true face," Gaia’s voice whispered in my ear, cold as a tomb. "When the land fails, the people die. To be their Queen is to feel every stomach growl, to carry the guilt of every failed harvest. This is the Weight of Living. Will you take it?"

I do invite Sara here at times, and it thrills her to see the other worlds. I set my book down and went over to the doors and opened it leaving it open as I walked out on to the balcony. I took a deep breath and released it and looked around. The night was coming, and the life was happening all around. That is what I call it, the world coming to life. I am also getting used to the different wildlife here and just like on Earth they are drawn to me. There was a light breeze tonight, and I leaned against the balcony railing. I was standing here loving my home that I help to rule.

My eyes filled with tears. “What are the risks?” I asked, frightened. “This book, while a blessing, is also a curse.” I glanced at Elowen, who was listening closely to Gaia’s words. “Every time it is used, it demands a price. Sometimes we notice it right away, sometimes we don’t, but that doesn’t mean the price isn’t there.” “Can what’s happening to Benjamin get worse?” I stood up and moved toward her. “What are the risks, Gaia?” She took my hands with affection.

The door was thrown open and Gaia rushed in a panic, “Naomi!” she screamed and rushed to her, hitting the book away from her. Naomi was standing in a daze, her eyes ashen colored as the book in her memory was still flashing it pages and filling her mind with the content. “No, no, no, no, no, no,” Gaia screamed, shaking Naomi, “Naomi please, wake up. How were you even able to find this damned book. Please.”

We are already one; we are united, and nothing and no-on can break us. The End. Hey lovelies, thank you so much for Reading Gaia’s story. If you will have patience and curiosity, despite my long-winded explanations and perhaps sometimes apparently contradictory statements or things you may perceive, do know that this is a story of creation, and first and foremost story of family and love. My name is Gia and I am the creator of this word, or as you know it, little blue dot of the universe, otherwise known as Earth.
