Going to work is a very good excuse for me to leave this house and clear my head somewhere else. When I got upstairs, I sat down on the couch because I couldn’t clear my head as much as I wanted. After so many years I try to distract myself by going outside for a jog because right now I think I’m overthinking everything, and it is messing with my head completely, and right now I don’t think I should be bothered about things like this.

I could just climb fifteen steps and see . The temptation is enormous, my feet itch for moving them up, for torturing myself. Getting out of here. It took minutes before I was able to feel the bands loosen. Slowly. Like they resisted and didn't want to let go. I kept breathing. Steady breaths in and out, holding for two seconds and letting go for three. I can do this. I won't pass out here. I'm going to get up, return to my apartment, and wash myself with bleach. Then I'll accidentally trip and hit my head on my sink. The cops will find my body rotting with half my brains on the floor. Maybe Lily will feast on my corpse, I don't want her to starve just yet. Hopefully she holds out till I'm found. And someone adopts her, someone kind and sweet and better.
