I asked, excitement rushing through me like electricity.
She walked slowly toward me, her heels clicking against the marble floor.
“The priest,” she said.
I frowned. “The priest?”
“Yes,” she said, lifting her chin. “Without the priest, they can’t hold the wedding. They need him to officiate the ceremony. So if there is no priest… there will be no marriage. And that will give us time, time to get rid of her before they pick another date.”
A slow smile stretched across my face.
