“Hurry, Father. You must help Ian!” Adam steeled his nerves, took a deep breath, and forced his legs to take him across the hot, charred ground as fast as he could. He had to weave around a few spirits who were so opaque and dense that they could have easily passed as real people. He debated whether they were even aware of him as they moved aimlessly about in a zombie like manner.

TIME: DAY 18 OF EXILE, 09:00 HOURS. LOCATION: THE DIGITAL WORLD - THE OBSIDIAN BASTION. STATUS: THE WAR COUNCIL. The transition into the Ghost Server was no longer a blinding explosion of agony. Kara (Jinx) had spent the last two weeks refining the haptic buffer, cannibalizing Blackwatch tactical helmets to smooth out the raw data transfer. When Ren (Wraith) logged in, it felt like plunging into an icy river—a sharp, breathtaking shock that quickly faded into a numb, hyper-focused clarity.

And I fucking hated the dark. I still hadn’t figured out who had breached my system. No trail, no breadcrumbs, not even the faintest flicker of an IP to follow. There were only two names that came to mind that might belong to the person. Gambit and Nyx. Those were two people who I’d heard whispers of being talented enough to pull that trick off. I froze, then started laughing out loud. So this ghost couldn't just cook—she was also a thrifty, budget-conscious woman. I liked that. I immediately grabbed a pen and wrote back, "Sorry, Ivy. I was just joking. From now on, let's stick to regular dishes. I won't bring up such ridiculous things anymore." I made sure to apologize sincerely.

She growled softly, her eyes flashing in anger. I lowered my head and scoffed lightly. "What did I do? Would you believe me if I said I was framed by them?” “Of course we will. You might not know this, but in a place like this, there's an absolute rule that we all have to follow. Serene Moon pack is a place where mystical things happen. Things that haven't been heard of in other packs, do you know what they call us?” I nodded. “Ghost Weavers. Healers who can bring back people from the dead. That's why the Serene Moon Pack is like a legend amongst other packs. A lot of people still don't believe this place exists.”

I stood in my office, staring at the darkened monitor, my mind racing through the possibilities. Ethan Carter was a wolf who didn't believe in coincidences. When Shea had vanished from the clinic, she hadn’t been harmed, which meant the digital ghost haunting our systems wasn't looking to hurt her.
