Selene screamed out and I was grateful for her help. Every time I opened my eyes all I could see was Azael’s face looming over mine. But I also caught a glimpse of Gideon, the guy looked like he was made of lava, and he had my flames wrapped around his chard hands, but his skin was all cracked. Within the cracks, it looked like lava flowing beneath his skin.

Gabe had seen the effect of doing that, and he had told Gideon point-blank never to mess with his mate or call her anything other than her name, but as she had grown to know, the Berkeley men are just plain ass stubborn, and the streak was what made them who they were, so he had continued. Perhaps, it was only to rile Gabe up, but Gideon had also called her that even when they were alone, and it had nothing to do with having a pass at her. He was just sweet like that. Gabe was also a sweet man, under that strong, I don't care, don't mess with me exterior, and Galatia was a man that was intense, but Gideon was sweet and gentle. His mate would definitely have a great man to be with.

I asked him in my sweet and innocent voice. “The prophecy talks of Selene, and how she will provide us with a Triple Goddess, and how that Goddess will have to choose between two Mates. One good and one bad” Galterio spoke as he looked deeply into my eyes, like he was trying to hypnotise me or something. I wanted to look away from his intense stare, but I knew that if I did, he could see it as rejection. I need him to believe I am all in with him, and him alone. “Two Mates?” I said dumbly, using a breathy delirious voice.

Quickly returning back to the room, I rummaged through the drawer for a book and a pen. ‘Cassian, there’s something you really need to know. Gideon is not who you think he is—Darth had stolen his body; Gideon never made it back from the desert. The enchanted bracelets prevent me from telling you the truth and he’ll know if I take it off. You cannot trust him!’ I placed the pen down to go through what I’ve written and my heart instantly fell into my stomach when I stared at the gibberish on the page. None of this was what I’d intended to write and yet, the words had turned into… this.

Suddenly, a stele depicting a young soldier caught her attention. "Father," she called out. Adrian walked over and read the inscriptions on the stele. This one belonged to a Garen Mars, codenamed Galaxy. He had just turned eighteen on the day he left for his mission. "He was eighteen years old, the same as you.” Adrian reached out and touched Garen's face which was carved onto the stele. He then closed his eyes and felt as though he was experiencing the battle first-hand. Adrian saw a brave young man risking his life to take down a massive monster in the sky. The moment the plane collided, Galaxy detonated the explosives around him and killed the monster in the process.

Niko however was always an exception. “Join the dance, Love!” Niko screamed above the loud music that was deafening their ears. He sipped from his glass of wine and offered it to them. “Here, have some wine!” Gwenevere and Temilorun wondered if he was drunk, because he didn’t look alright. He looked... intoxicated. Gwenevere hissed and attempted to walk past him but he pulled her back by her arm. “Have some-” Gwenevere didn’t wait for him to complete his statement. She dragged the glass cup from his hand and emptied the wine to the ground, causing it to splash on his foot. Then she dropped the glass cup into the waste bin beside her.
