Fallon I don’t like feeling this way. My chest feels heavy and tight. My throat hurts every time I swallow. "Today, we're going to discuss human emotions and feelings. Can anyone tell me what they think is the most complex emotion?" Emily, a quiet student in the back, raised her hand. "I think it's guilt," she said. "It can lead to so many other emotions, like shame, regret, and anxiety." Professor Thompson nodded thoughtfully. "That's a great answer, Emily. Guilt can indeed be a very complex emotion."

She softly cries while looking helplessly at me, and her voice is laced with fear. Her voice does something to me, and I can feel my wolf beginning to calm. My wolf is hurt and confused seeing Gianna's tears. He doesn't understand why she is afraid of us. He feels upset because he doesn't want to hurt her but only wants to show his love to her. Our wolves show all their emotions physically. In his eyes, he only wants to show Gianna his love by claiming her.

“I don’t know where I end anymore.” That honesty surprised even her. Kaelan looked toward her more carefully after that. “You’re still here.” “How would you know?” “Because grief changes people differently.” His expression became thoughtful now. “Lealla carried sadness like she was trying to hide it from the world. You carry yours like you’re angry it exists at all.” Freya blinked slowly. That felt unfairly accurate. Kaelan leaned casually against the railing beside her. “You also glare significantly more.” “I do not glare.”

That lazy confidence that made people flock to him. And when his gaze flicked to me, for the briefest second, something real cracked through his façade. Something soft. Something guilty. It was easier to be angry than to feel everything else clawing inside me. Because underneath the anger was grief. And underneath the grief was love.

His voice doesn’t hold mockery, but even so, I feel shamed. I don’t look at him when I begin speaking. “Growing up, my father taught me that feelings are nonexistent, an illusion. For years, I was conditioned to be unfeeling. I’d cry but I couldn’t tell why. I’d chase after things like happiness, and yet, I couldn’t tell why. But with you, Gio, I think I’m beginning to understand the concept of feelings. Sometimes, I fear. Sometimes, I’m worried. Sometimes, I’m happy. Pain, sadness, fear, anger—I feel them all with you. I laugh, smile, cry, scream, not because they’re a necessity, but because I feel them with unimaginable intensity.”

I pouted at him—I was still in the middle of telling him stories. “You just don’t want to talk to me, huh? I’m really sulking now. Hmp!” I teased. Gelo’s reactions when he’s stressed out are so cute—I love chatting with him. And he’s just plain adorable. He’s like the Filipino version of Cha Eun Woo when he’s well-fed. "Empathy," Greta says, looking at Rina. "It’s the ability to feel other people's emotions as if they were your own. You can sense lies, fear, love, anger—sometimes even from a distance." Rina's mouth drops open. "Like when I know someone is sad even if they’re smiling? Like when I can tell Maya’s annoyed even when she’s not saying anything?"
