"Human... how are you..." Lucien Desrosiers, the Demon King of the dark court, took one stunned step back. The noise behind him died at once. The hall was packed with elders, guards, and newly chosen sacrificial consorts, yet everyone seemed to forget how to breathe. Someone whispered, "She is not afraid of him? The Demon King's whole body carries the lust-curse. Any woman who gets too close starts collapsing within three seconds. Why is she fine?"

I looked up and my stomach dropped. Aziel Nightbane. The monster himself. His golden eyes burned down at me with pure hate. Up close he smelled like blood and smoke and something darker that made my wolf stir. “Who are you running from boy?” he growled. His voice was low and rough like gravel under boots. His grip tightened on my arm hard enough to bruise. I gasped for air and forced words out even though my throat felt tight. “Please. I am nothing. Just a slave omega. Let me go and I will disappear. You will never see me again I swear it.”

“Are you kidding me?” Basille laughed condescendingly. “Why would I?” The goblin arrived back in style, with a couple of demon maidens, a table and chairs upon which was food and drink, and a scatter of many pillows all under a large open canopy like a gazebo with long flowing white curtains. It appeared all set up on the side of the battle arena like an oasis in some Egyptian fairy tale. Ruben looked at it amazed, giving Basille a sideways glance. “Why?” Basille grinned. “I wish a glorious fight…not an ant squashing…I expect your every effort to be exhausted before I finally kill you.”

Everything about that bus screamed 'money'. 'What a sumptuous bus this is. I wonder how its interior is?' He couldn't help but admire the fine grand bus which was colored in red. After all, this was his old habit. To appreciate the beauty no matter if it belonged to a person or even a thing. Suddenly, the glass of one of the windows of the other bus slid open, and someone emerged out of it. "Aye! Yooo!! If it isn't the poor and miserable Ghost Busters team!? Eh!?" A guy with black hair tied in a ponytail with a patchy beard came into everyone's view as they heard his mocking voice.

Now I’m finishing the food. Liam walks into the kitchen, a few bags from the local store in his hands. “I think I just made the weirdest purchase of my life at Gilligan’s. Gel pens in, like, fifteen colors, ten disposable cameras, five compact mirrors, and enough candy to give a giraffe diabetes.” I shoot him a smile over my shoulder as I check the paratha dough. “Jai and Violet will appreciate it. According to Meredith, goblins, boggarts, and kobolds are big candy fans. And you can trade with the dark elves using the rest.”

I questioned her and Keran and Nyx both grinned and nodded. "The goblins are highly sexual creatures and won't think anything about an exposed nipple, bare breast, or man's penis out on display so don't stare or be too shocked by what you see. Also, some have extras…arms, eyes, etc," Nyx informed Noah and me. I shrugged and told him hell's demons were similar.

“He’s a teacher, and I am a student. And we could get into so much trouble.” “Delicious trouble indeed,” he chuckled whole-heartedly. Soon, he parked the car in front of the one small Itlian place we never failed to go to — Dino’s pizza. It wasn’t rush hour just yet, and we were lucky enough to find a table by the window. We asked for our regular order without even looking at the menu. “Are you excited about the festival?” Billy asked after a moment of silence. “Why would I be? I don’t have a wolf, remember?” I rolled my eyes at him.

My energy was draining fast, my body craving food, my mind clouding with doubt. I stumbled to a clearing when the earth beneath me rumbled. The ground cracked. Then came the Black Goblins—dozens at first, then hundreds, their black, ashy skin glowing faintly under the pale light. They hated sorcerers, always had. Unlike the White Goblins, these creatures were pure hostility. They formed a ring around me, baring teeth, hissing threats. One stepped forward—taller than the others, a crooked crown on his head. His voice slithered through the air like poison.

Lacey screamed, throwing herself at him, clawing and yanking at whatever wisps of hair Elton had left on his balding head. Elton tried to duck, but he still got his hair pulled out. Even his face began getting littered with bloodied scratch marks. He was in so much pain that he gnashed his teeth and stopped trying to avoid her. Instead, he lifted his leg and kicked hard at Lacey's stomach. "Damn you, stupid bitch! Who the hell did you think you were, beating me up like this?" Lacey immediately stopped attacking him after the kick. She just cradled her stomach and lay on the ground, curled up in pain.
