letters that staved

letters that staved

Just two people shaped by shared quiet. Jo took a slow breath and placed a new drawing: Two spirals—one curled inward, one reaching out. The lines were steadier this time, braver, but still soft. Above it, she wrote: “I carry you forward, even when we don’t return together.” Franc took a panel he had prepared from his satchel. It was heavy, painted with deliberate care. A single broken line ran across its surface, interrupted, uneven. Over the fracture, he had brushed gold.

Mommy, I Want You To Marry Daddy!

Mommy, I Want You To Marry Daddy!

My smile widened as I tried to understand what he was trying to say. “It has finished.” he pouted, not moving his finger from his face. “Colour pencil. Has. Finish.” he said and my mouth formed ‘oh’ when I fully understood him. He couldn't find a purple color pencil so he used black but wasn't satisfied with it. “Oh, you are getting better at painting. That's awesome!” I smiled, regardless of the change of eye colour, his drawing and painting were improving and I loved that he was getting better. “If I knew you enjoyed drawing and painting this much, I would have bought you a lot of sketchbooks.” I smiled, flipping to the next page to see that we were already at the last page.

The Last Thunder

“You fill it yourself, ask me if there’s something you don’t understand.” “Alright, grandfather.” Akaito took the pen and did as he was asked. “We should fill for Haato too, Rio. I’ll do it for you.” Eiji said, taking the pen and the Komatsus started filling the paper form as well.

The Accidental Rebirth: The Troubles of a Three-Year-Old CEO

The Accidental Rebirth: The Troubles of a Three-Year-Old CEO

Takuto Kimura sat hunched over at the small wooden desk, clutching his pencil like a stockbroker holding on to a volatile asset. He stared at the grid paper in front of him, the blank spaces mocking him, much like a financial report riddled with discrepancies. He had to complete his homework, and the prompt was simple enough: “An Unforgettable Day”

Chasing Kitsune

Chasing Kitsune

It was beautiful even though it showed a story of blood and darkness. I passed the folder to Hibiki for him. “Nice work, son. I would say you need to adjust your proportions. I know you’ve not seen pictures of Yūri when she was young, so I’m guessing you went off Riko’s proportions for the drawings.” he commented, handing the folder back. “Um, well yeah. Riko didn’t have any pictures of Yūri when she was young. Just a few here and there when Saki was still alive. I also looked at the pictures in the album of Saki when she was young, and her figure was similar to Riko.” Forrest nodded.

Angela Kulow
Another awesome book by Bryant! She is so great at character development and pulls you into her story. I love how she delved into taboo topics, and the real cost of those behaviors! It's also great to read about a strong female, instead of needing a man to save her!
Y. Jetter
This is probably one of my favorites from the author. It was well written and puts an interesting spin on Girl Power. I loved how Yuri was just risqué enough to keep me hooked. Yuri/Kitsune are the bada$$ I wish I could be. Hibiki is the perfect pairing for her, complementing not overshadowing her.

My Billionaire Boss's Little Matchmaker

My Billionaire Boss's Little Matchmaker

"You can look now, Ate Graziel." Graziel accepted the drawing with a warm smile. Three stick figures were drawn on the paper. One was a tall man. One was a little girl. And the last one was a woman with long hair. All three of them were holding hands. A gentle smile appeared on Graziel's face. "It's beautiful." "This is Daddy." Junie pointed at the tallest figure. "And this is me." Graziel nodded. "And this..." The little girl smiled brightly. "...is you."

Wolf University: Rejected by my Possessive Alpha Mate

Wolf University: Rejected by my Possessive Alpha Mate

I hugged it close to my chest like it was treasure. Aya was handed a pencil—chewed at both ends. “This is… very generous,” she said carefully. “He chewed it himself,” his brother informed her. Aya blinked. “Wow. Custom.” We were giggling before we knew it, even Joha. He had that soft look in his eyes again—the one he gets when he’s trying not to cry or laugh too hard. Or both. He pocketed the drawing and whispered something I couldn’t hear, but I saw him tap it in his hand.

His Alpha-Uncle Is My Fated Mate

His Alpha-Uncle Is My Fated Mate

Their voices blended into a joyful chorus. Theo, a shy kid, walked up to me slowly, handing me something on a piece of paper. I took it, thanking him and ruffling his hair. He retreated shyly as I unfolded the paper. A chuckle escaped my lips. It was a drawing, done with colored pencils and what looked like scraps of paper glued on. “Is this me?” I asked, gesturing to the drawing of a tall figure with comically broad shoulders, surrounded by children.

I smile. Salvatore stares down at the canvas with love. I take some black paint and a thin brush. I make stick figures under the hands, a big one under his and a smaller one under mine. "Write down today's date on the back, I want us to remember this day forever" I pass him the brush. He turns the canvas and scribbles down todays date. He flips the canvas back to the painted side, I rest my head on his shoulder, we both silently admire our artwork.
