Tyr I stop on the quiet, dark street and listen. The Silver Hunters were supposed to meet me here thirty minutes ago. I've given up working with higher ups in the Silver Hunter community. Since Gray Finnegan failed at her mission to retrieve the Golden Coin from the pocket dimension, I've decided that I have no problem just picking and choosing Silver Hunters to work as mercenaries for me. Like the two I hired this morning to track down Winter and the Golden Coin. They may pretend to be loyal to their organization, but it was easy to win them over using a wad of cash.

A shimmer of moonlight on steel. Elira’s dagger was in her hand instantly. “We’re not alone.” Figures emerged from the shadows—tall, cloaked, their eyes glinting like stars. Their movements were silent, precise, deadly. Elves. One stepped forward, lowering his hood. His hair was gold as wheat, his features sharp and cold. His gaze swept over Kaelen before settling on Elira. “Liraethiel,” he said, voice like steel wrapped in velvet. “You’ve broken exile.”

“Welcome, Zane.” I turn slowly, my eyes widening as I see her. She’s walking toward me, an ethereal glow surrounding her, golden light radiating from every step. Her long, flowing blonde hair cascades over her shoulders, and a beautiful gown drapes around her in waves, moving as if it’s part of the light itself. Her eyes are a shade of gold that feels ancient, otherworldly, yet warm. A black teardrop pendant hangs from her neck, glinting softly in the glow that envelops her.

He was right in front of her, dropping down for another pass. “Stay behind him!” Nya shouted to Ruby, who couldn’t answer her in her current form. She had no arrows, but she had a feeling that something wasn’t right. Just as Gavin turned to fire at a large Beelzanborg soldier on his left, an arrow came from the other direction. Nya sensed it with her sixth sense, and as it sailed at him, she shouted, “Gavin, duck!”

The crowd erupted in cheers when Rina stepped into view. She was dressed in a flowing robe of silver and white, embroidered with the crest of the Silver Fang Pack. Her hair, neatly braided and adorned with moon-shaped ornaments, caught the light with every step she took. Though her heart pounded in her chest, her stride was steady, her gaze firm—an elite warrior who now bore the grace of a Luna. The elders began the rites, their voices echoing with ancient words as they called upon the Moon Goddess to witness the ceremony. Incense rose into the sky, curling like silver smoke, while the pack lowered their heads in reverence.

The seating chart was on a small ivory card on the sideboard, and Eleanor checked it as they came in and found that Preston had not been invited, which she registered as either mercy or strategy and could not immediately determine which. She was seated between her uncle Gerrard and Daniel. Gerrard was seventy, red-faced, jovial in the specific way of men who have never had to moderate themselves and have mistaken this for good humor. He collected American antiques. Eleanor had, in the car, considered warning Daniel about Gerrard, and had decided against it for the same reason she’d decided against the shirt: Daniel didn’t need to be managed. Merigold says and starts to walk away. Nicki grabs Merigold's shoulder " Bitch I said you need to leave. And you need to listen to me if you know what is good for you." Before anyone can make a move toward them Merigold grabs Nicki's hand and swings around and punches Nicki in the nose so hard I swear I heard a crunch from here. Then she drops down and sweeps Nicki's legs out from under her. Nicki lands on her back with a thud. In a blink of an eye, Merigold is on Nicki and punched her in the face again. When I see her fist drawn back getting ready for a throat punch.

I didn't want to question her or make her relieve her bad past but her words sounded unbelievable. "I never knew you went through a lot sis, I'm truly sorry. As for Stacey, I recently met her at the hotel I'm in, and I kind of felt like she wasn't lying." I said softly. "That's what golddiggers do, they trick and lie. That lady is a professional gold digger who can easily manipulate you, so avoid her at all cost and stay away from her." she said. "Okay, thank you for making things clear to me. I will talk to you later, I love you." I whispered.
