The wind was strong, carrying red dust. Jasper steered with one hand, the other holding a half-smoked cigar, casually resting on the open window. "See that dry river valley over there?" He pointed with his cigar to the red rock walls outside the window.

Take one Gwen, it's a criteria for going through the door." I lied. The door was guarded by yet another pair of wolves. They were both huge. One of them had a scar running from across his left eye to his chin."I..I had no idea." She said. She was quite flustered as she complied and took a drink the elf handed out to her. Reluctantly she downed the bitter liquid and popped the cup back on the tray. I winked at the elf, he beamed slightly at me in return as he left.

Maybe four, moving together.” Thorne straightened, his expression grim. “Scouts.” Raven’s jaw tightened, the wind lifting her hair as she stood. “The Wraith’s scouts.” The forest fell silent around them, the distant call of a hawk echoing above, the world holding its breath. Ragnar emerged from the treeline, his gray eyes taking in the tracks with a single glance before flicking to Raven. “They’re testing our borders.” “They won’t find us unprepared,” Raven replied, her voice quiet but edged with steel.

he insisted, his eyes glazing over. "Not without you." Beta Ronan stood at the edge of the forest clearing, his eyes fixed on the tire tracks cutting deep into the mud. Rain water swirled around his boots. He inhaled deeply, tasting the air. The faint, metallic tang of blood and sweat hung in the wind. "They headed toward the gorge," Ronan barked, gesturing for his trackers to fan out. "Sir, the scent is fading," a tracker replied, adjusting his night-vision goggles. "This rain is washing everything away."

The journey to the western mountains took five days through terrain that grew steadily more rugged and wild. The recovering lands gave way to ancient forests of towering redwood and pine, their trunks so wide that a full pack could shelter in their hollows. Streams ran fast and cold, fed by snowmelt from the distant peaks, and the air carried the clean, sharp scent of high altitudes. Lira traveled with a small company: Aria and two of her seers, Kael and four Ironmaw fighters, Thane and Vestra, and a young western scout named Sorrel who had volunteered to guide them through the mountain passes.

I turned my head to the voice behind and saw Rhyker, glaring coldly at the guard who gulped nervously. "I'm sorry, your royal highness." He bowed down, just like the other guard who was trying his best to not laugh. "She's a special guest to me, if you ever see her then let her inside. Is that clear?" He ordered to both of the guards, they nodded frantically. Rhyker took my arm while those two opened the door for him, we got inside of his luxury office, I gasped in fascination as I saw the big aquarium outside and a pool inside his office.

Who knows what has become of these wild cards of fairies. Haco and a few of his fellow rangers march soundlessly on the uneven terrains towards the Dark Mountains. These rangers are used to such conditions that they are not in any way bothered by their present circumstances. Like their King, these fairies were trained to endure harsh environments no matter what. They are as courageous as their Fire Lord.
