They stared like I’d grown an extra head. “What the… You’re really his boyfriend?” the boy asked. I chuckled, loving the drama. Couldn’t believe something like this could make me feel good. I picked up the smoothie—looked like vomit but tasted surprisingly nice—and took a sip. “Thanks for the smoothie,” I said, handing the boy a folded, slightly stained fifty-dollar bill. “Keep the change.” The boy opened the drawer, but I waved him off. “You guys keep it.” “Holy shit!” he exclaimed, turning to the girl, grinning wildly.
