"What's going on?"
"Liam's flying back today."
"Oh. The boyfriend."
"The boyfriend."
"You don't sound thrilled."
"I'm thrilled," I said, in a tone that convinced absolutely nobody, least of all myself.
"Uh huh." She leaned in, dropping her voice slightly, though there was nobody nearby to hear us anyway. "Is this a good nervous or a bad nervous?"
"I don't know. Both. Neither."
"Very helpful, thank you."
"I've had him for three years, Amara, I should know how I feel about him landing at an airport. I genuinely don't."
