“Can you sing me a lullaby, Mommy?” The innocent request warms my heart, and I nod, perching on the edge of the bed. Slowly, gently, I hum the soothing tune of a familiar lullaby. Miles, comforted by the sound of my voice, begins to drift off almost right away. I watch him, still humming and gently stroking his dark hair, until his breathing evens out.

A little girl in a room. She walked slowly in the pitch dark. Then, the little girl turned on the light to illuminate the place. At that moment, the little girl saw something flowing near her feet. She was immediately shocked when she saw the blood flowing towards her. The little girl immediately screamed while fear enveloped her tiny body. “AHH!!!” A girl who fell asleep on her bed alone, she screamed in fear and immediately opened her eyes and woke up from her sleep. Then, the girl sat on her bed holding the blanket that covered her whole body.

She let out another yawn and closed her eyes. “Elleanna?” “Hmm?” She hummed out. “Will you sing me a lullaby?” Romero asked softly. “Sure” She said softly then she began to sing a German lullaby she had learned in school once because she loved it “Shlaf, Kindlien, shlaf, Der Vater hut die Schaaf, Die Mutter schuttelts Baumelein, Da falls herb win Traumelein…Shlaf, Kindlien, schlaf….”

"Goodnight, Caelum." "Goodnight, Sol."

I shut my eyes as I slowly drift to sleep. “Goodnight baby girl”, is all I say before drifting to sleep.

GYPSY'S POV 🎶Now the sun turns out his light, Good night, sleep tight. Dream sweet dreams for me, Dream sweet dreams for you. Good night, Good night, everybody, Everybody, everywhere, Good night.🎶 I shut my eyes after the lullaby ends and force a yawn out of myself, ready to sleep like I've been for the past three hours. Five minutes later, I'm staring eyes wide into the darkness. Ugh. What the heck?

The baby's eyes fly open and he begins crying again. Ramon lets out a sigh and climbs into bed next to him. Pulling the infant close, he plays with his hair and quietly sings a lullaby to him. *Goodnight My Angel It's time to close your eyes and put these questions aside for another day. I think I know what you were asking me I think you know what I was trying to say I promised you I would never leave you and you should always know wherever you go wherever you are I will never be far away.*

The crowd including our table claps and yells. “ But it is past bedtime guys. I will see you soon. Say good night.” Lilly says. They all say goodnight. One little girl, that can’t be more than three holding a pink teddy bear in one arm, and the other you can see tubes coming out of steps up “ What bout night song?” “ Lilly looks at the crowd. “ What do you think guys? Do you mind if I sing them a lullaby before they go?” I didn’t expect the response that happens. The crowd chants ‘ Do it.’ over and over. Lilly nods “ Last one then bed. Promise?” “ Promise, Songbird.” The kids yell.

"Goodnight, little one. It’s time to close your eyes, The things you keep asking just let it all fly away Like birds in the sky, they’ll soon find the way But honey, just remember the promise I made That wherever you go, even the darkest days I will always be here with you. We will never be far away. I will never leave you..." The lullaby was playing in my head once again, and I sank to the floor when I put both of my hands in my ears to stop it from playing anymore. It's piercing my ears and only serves to aggravate the situation. Trembling spread throughout my body, and an icy blast of cold hit me.

“We rest now. Tomorrow we move. Nyra will not touch my daughter.” The group left one by one until only Jacob and I remained. The tent flap closed and the night sounds outside softened. I shifted our daughter to my lap so I could see her face better. Her tiny lashes fluttered in sleep. Jacob sat beside me on the furs and pulled us both into his arms. I started to sing the old pack lullaby Mira had taught me weeks ago. The words came out soft and slow. “Moon above watch over this one. Stars below guard her dreams. Wind carries her safely through the night. Pack forever hold her close.”
