One Night Stand With My Ruthless Boss
I stay, patting him gently on his back and sing him a little lullaby song:
“Close your eyes, the night is deep,
Dream of stars and skies you keep.
Safe and warm, here in my arms,
Rest your heart away from harm.
Whispered winds will guide your way,
Till the dawn brings light to stay.
Hold on tight, don’t fear the night,
I’m right here — till morning light.”
I sing it three times, patting his back like a baby, before I know it, he has already fallen asleep. When I lay his hand on the bed and cover him with the duvet, he is fully asleep.
When I am sure he is totally asleep, I slip out quietly, the mask still hiding my face, leaving behind my sleeping baby.
