Part of Lydia wanted to believe. She'd love to be in a world with genuine, actual magic. It was hard, though, to go against a lifetime of skepticism. "All of you?"
They all nodded at the same time.
"There is magic touching you," Anissa said, looking Lydia up and down. "Your own and something else. Something powerful."
