It looked like something had already happened. “What could be going on there.” I stood up wanting to check what had happened.Mr Harper followed me to check what had happened. I heard a familiar cry and I sought to check who it was and I saw that it was Gabriel. I was shocked at what had happened to him. “Gabriel!” I rushed going to meet him as he laid on the ground. “What happened to you.” “I fell from the slide.My leg is really hurt,Mommy.” He said crying. “My baby!”I went to were he was on the ground. I bent low to his level and carried him from the ground.He still continued crying.

“Hey, do you have anything you could hand me? So I can show it to Mabel as the reason…” I didn’t finish my sentence when she pulled out one button on the gown, handing it to me. That would definitely do the trick once I called it something mystique. Hazel walked away. Then I tossed the button on the ground. I finally looked at the guys and waved briefly at them before crouching down to grab Mabel. I helped her up from the ground, and as soon as my friends drove away, she woke up. “So what are we looking for?” she repeated her question.

" Ryan and I both peered inside. I was stunned to see that the speakers were the same rogue wolves Vivian had once claimed had tried to assault her. She seemed experienced in dealing with them. Tossing a small pouch their way, she said impatiently, "This is Moon Crystal. It should be enough for you to enjoy yourselves for months. Take it and disappear from Silver Moon territory." The rogues grabbed the pouch but sneered at her. "You used to brag about how much he loves you, yet all you could manage was this pathetic amount of Moon Crystal? "You'd have been better off staying with that Northern Alpha, at least he was generous."

Anna's hands tightened on the stairs as she looked at Diane weakly. "I feel weird. I don't know what's wrong with me." She whispered. Diane walked closer to her. "Are you okay?" "No. I was reading a book and then....." She trailed off, her hands slipping from the rails and suddenly her legs slipped. She rolled down the remaining cases of the stairs. "Anna!" Diane screamed, the glass cup falling from her hand and crashing down on the ground. * * * * * "There's no one here." Gaia said as he walked inside Levi's makeshift office. "Do you think someone gave them a hint?" He asked.

“Ah, damn… you’re right. We’re going the wrong way.” They both snorted in laughter and staggered off in the opposite direction. Lyra exhaled shakily, her whole body trembling. She had no more time to lose. Trusting her instincts, she turned back to the wall, placed both hands against the stone, and pressed. For a moment, nothing happened. Then… click. A deep, rumbling sound rolled beneath her feet. Her eyes widened as the ground gave way… a slab of earth sliding open soundlessly. She gasped softly as the surface dropped beneath her. The air rushed past her face as she fell into darkness.

Chapter Twelve The rain had been relentless all Friday. Sheets of water fell from the sky, drumming against windows and rooftops, as if the heavens themselves were mourning or warning. Nora sat in the art studio, trying desperately to focus on her presentation, but her brush hovered uselessly over the canvas. The colours and lines felt meaningless. Every stroke of paint blurred, smudged by the storm of emotions inside her.

Mabel’s POV Reality doesn’t break all at once. It frays. The first tear is small, subtle enough that if I weren’t already terrified, I might have missed it. The river to our right ripples the wrong way, climbing its own banks like it’s trying to escape gravity. Pebbles lift from the earth and hover midair, trembling as if unsure which direction is down. The wind blows in circles, folding back into itself. Then time hiccups. Marcus takes a step forward.

Stepped into the trap. Now I just had to survive it. The elevator descended, carrying me back to ground level. Back to reality. Except reality had just shifted into something I didn’t recognize. And there was no going back.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

I look down at Mabel. ‘You’re a witch?’ ‘Shh.’ She smiles. ‘This way.’ She waves. We follow her through the shallow, murky water. I can hear the sounds of frogs and rats. May is shaking like a leaf at the number of cobwebs and spiders we pass. The one cave now has three different tunnels. We stop and stare at the three tunnels. ‘Which one is the right way?’ I ask Mabel. ‘Always keep to the left on the way in and keep to the right on the way out.’
