Swayed by the Charming Alpha

Swayed by the Charming Alpha

“Goodbye.” With one last kick, the ground is no longer underneath my feet. I’m falling. ... Is this the end for me? Will I be turned to nothing but stardust in a matter of seconds? Defeated by a rogue, how pathetic. I cannot let this happen. I shift in mid-air and grab onto a rock. My head still feels light, and I’m losing a lot of blood, but I’m still alive, so I won’t give up. As I try to climb back up, the rock rumbles, before falling, taking me down with it.

Shadows of the Lost

Shadows of the Lost

“—here and wait for the hole to process it.” They waited for no more than a second before the walls fell like a curtain, a swishing sound echoing around them. Blame stopped breathing when the ground they were supposed to be standing on disappeared and off they went in a never-ending fall. It took Blame’s and Reigna’s voices to crack for them to hit the ground. They catch their breath, spluttered, looked up at the now flat surface of the ceiling, and patted the ground in case it opened again. “Is it—is it always like that?” started Blame the moment she got a hold of herself.

Probably the most challenging story I have written. With about 5 drafts and two years of crafting, it’s my longest work. It’s thrilling. I revisit it sometimes and, he, even I get overwhelmed and awed. I mean, it feels like I’m not the one who wrote it.

I love the world building of this novel! Even when you’re only in chapter one you can already see how the author meticulously planned the settings of the story. It’s descriptive so even if the world is new and unfamiliar the readers could still easily imagine what it’s like.

The Hostile Takeover: Signed, Sealed, and Claimed

The Hostile Takeover: Signed, Sealed, and Claimed

Caleb hauled him out of the chair, his feet dangling inches off the carpet. "Where is the cure?" Caleb’s jaw was lengthening. His teeth were needles. "There is... no... cure," Henderson wheezed. Caleb roared. He spun. He hurled Henderson’s body like a sack of stones. The reinforced glass window didn't just crack. It shattered. It sounded like an ice shelf collapsing. Henderson vanished into the sky, falling fifty stories toward the pavement below. The wind screamed into the boardroom, scattering the acquisition papers like autumn leaves.

Chains of Fortune: Beneath the Blackwood Name

VOWS OF DESIRES (DS1)

VOWS OF DESIRES (DS1)

Then everything came crashing down at once. My knees gave out beneath me as I collapsed onto the ground, the world around me spinning uncontrollably. I could hear my own heartbeat pounding in my ears, growing weaker with each passing second. My vision blurred. Jacob’s figure loomed above me, his expression unreadable as he stared down at me. So this is how it ends…? No… It can’t be… not yet. Not when I still haven’t fixed everything. Not when I still have to go back to Felicity…

Shhh Daddy won’t Know

Shhh Daddy won’t Know

00:03… 00:02… 00:01… The world didn’t end with a bang. It ended with a suck. A silent, blinding white flash swallowed the camera feeds. Then the sound hit a deep, angry roar that was less a noise and more a physical punch. The floor lurched. Elena’s stomach flew into her throat. There was a screaming of metal, and then the terrible, endless sensation of falling. The room was dropping into the earth. She squeezed her eyes shut, buried her face in Lucas’s neck, and prayed to nothing at all.

Replaced by His First Love

he shouts. His voice is a gravelly roar. "Jump! I can’t hold the anchor! Can't hold the anchor!" I look at the gap. Ten feet of empty air where the world has already ended. Behind me, the terminal finally dissolves, taking the memory of Kael’s confession with it. 00:05. The floor beneath my feet turns to mist. I feel myself falling. I reach out, my fingers catching a jagged edge of the last solid stair. "The child," I gasp.

The Alpha's Forbidden Heir

The Alpha's Forbidden Heir

"It’s not just the grid that’s falling. It’s the entire tower. We have to move. Now." Arthur hauled Kael onto his back, his muscles straining under the weight. "Where? We’re ten levels deep!" Lucien pointed toward the crack in the ceiling, where the night sky was visible, distant and cold. "Up. We climb. We leave the tomb behind." As they began to ascend, dragging themselves through the ruins of the Directorate’s legacy, the sound of the mountain’s collapse roared behind them—a symphony of destruction that signaled, for the first time in history, the end of the machine.

She Runs with Wolves

She Runs with Wolves

We were being lifted higher and higher, in time with the music, until our ethereal bodies had floated out into the night sky. The music was quiet, outside, but the crickets chirped and the grass rustled, and the stars held all of the light of the candles, and they shone, silver through glass, as he tipped me backwards, his arm steady against my spine. Then I was falling, tumbling back into my bed. I shook myself. The film had ended. I closed the lid of my laptop sleepily, and pulled myself out from under the covers to blow out the candles. There was only one left, right beside my bed, when my phone rang.

I am loving this beautifully written book! The author takes the time to craft the characters and the ways the natural world mirrors this inner world. I love that this is a very different kind of Alpha!

Vows of Graphite and Guilt

Vows of Graphite and Guilt

The world vanished. Gravity ripped away from them as the cable unspooled at terminal velocity. Clara choked on a scream, her face burying into the wet linen of Julian’s shoulder as they plummeted down the sheer, vertical face of the skyscraper. The wind howled in her ears, the lateral force throwing them sideways, smashing Julian’s shoulder hard against the tinted glass panels of the 58th floor, then the 55th. Above them, sparks flew into the night as the operatives fired down the line, their bullets pinging harmlessly off the reinforced steel casing of the winch mechanism sixty feet above.
