The only thing that I knew was that we were outside of the room, our struggle with one another still very much heated at its peak and then, in a moment of wicked irony, gravity decided to join its forces in on our battle. We crashed into the banister, the force of our collision sending us falling downward. The world spun around me as I tumbled down the flight of stairs, my body jolting with pain at the impact on each of the several stairs. I clawed at the air, desperately reaching for something to hold on to and stop myself from falling any further than I already had, but my efforts at stopping my fall were in vain.

“You still have time to worry about each other. Let’s think about that once we get back home.” “You are right. Let’s go back. Can you remember the way out?” Lance lifted his chin and said, “Of course. What do you take me for?” “A man who almost lost his consciousness after seeing a ghost.” “Hey! That… It’s your fault. The fall was more than something he could control. He couldn’t stop the scream that forced itself out of his mouth as he found himself struggling against the force of gravity. His body hit the window guards from the top most floor and his head also hit one of the opened window glasses and continued downward until it got to the middle floor at the fourth second where it hit another opened glass window, all this slowing down his movement and increasing the pains of his fall. He closed his eyes in anticipation of his death as he continued falling.

“Don’t even think about it.” “Too late.” I stepped forward. My boot landed on the plate with a loud click. Liam’s eyes widened. “Are you out of your fucking mind?” The ground shuddered beneath us. The hedges groaned. My pulse kicked up so fast it hurt. I reached for Liam instinctively and grabbed his hand just as the trapdoor split open under our feet. Gravity yanked us down hard. “What the fuck!” Liam roared as we plunged into the darkness. Wind whipped against my face. My stomach lurched like I was free-falling down an elevator shaft. I clung tighter to his hand, the only solid thing in the spinning void.

Luca tried to reach Sierra’s side, but another pulse of power sent him stumbling back. The girl stood near the door, her eyes glowing with anger and something else, something wild, untamed. "You brought this on yourselves," she hissed. The floor gave another violent shudder. And then, with a deafening crack, everything collapsed. I tried to move, to reach for something solid, but the ground beneath me trembled violently. The energy in the air was suffocating, pressing down on me like a heavy weight. Since the door was closed, there's no way I could open the door while laying on the ground. I tried getting up, but it was just so impossible. Whenever I'm atleast succeeding... “Grab onto the other one. Please!” Honestly, slowly falling off is making me scared of dying now. So I reach Anya’s right arm. She counts from one to three before she pulls me upwards. She caught me not too far from the edge so it was easier for me to reach the ground. We are both panting, though Anya’s very audible. I lift my head and I met Anya’s gaze. I realize that Anya is laying on the ground, while I was laying down on her. I gulp. Her natural brown eyes reflect the moon in the sky. Another gulp before I turn away from her and hit the ground. I left my eyes stuck on the sky. The stars are winking at me like it’s trying to seduce me. And oh I’m so turned on.

She tried to twist free, but Chloe clung on, refusing to let go. “Let go!” Elena hissed, her voice trembling with anger. They struggled intensely as Chloe leaned dangerously toward the edge, her weight pulling Elena forward. Just as Elena thought she broke free, she felt a sudden, unexpected shove from behind. Her eyes widened, and the world seemed to tilt. Gravity yanked her downward, and she fell down the stairs before landing on the floor. Chloe stumbled back and pressed a hand to her chest. For a second, she thought she might also fall.

"The Ninth can have my soul. I just want her back." The descent was a nightmare of vertical miles. They used the rope until the rope ran out, then they climbed down the pulsing, vein-like ridges of the tunnel walls. The deeper they went, the more the physics of the world began to fail. Gravity became a suggestion. The walls began to whisper in the voices of people Elara had lost her father, her friends, even the versions of herself from the mirror world. “Give up, Elara,” the walls hissed. “The girl is already stone.”
