A message from Fiona appeared on the screen: "Everything is ready. If Jared attacks tonight, we can track him." Gwen took a deep breath. This was a pivotal moment. With trembling fingers, she typed her response: "I'm ready." It didn't take long before Gwen's laptop screen started flickering. Applications began opening and closing on their own, as if someone was taking control. Moments later, a pop-up window appeared on the screen, reading: "You think you can stop me? This is just the beginning." Gwen felt her blood run cold, but she had anticipated this. Fiona had warned her that Jared, the hacker working for Rachel, would try various ways to breach her defenses. However, Gwen did not panic.

Gwen Paused for a while as a smirk appeared on her lips. “You need to pay her a friendly visit once again and this time around, you must wipe every single memory she has of us. That way, we could take her down and focus more on Aiden and Kiara.” Gwen declared. As soon as she was done talking, she turned and headed straight to where the crystal ball was positioned. “It's a good thing I found something very shocking and at the same time exciting about this young man.” She uttered as she made her hand roll around the crystal ball, without touching it.

**GWEN** "Thanks for inviting me to the meeting," I said softly as we made our way out of the conference room after the meeting. It was the mandatory meeting done every Thursday to discuss present and futuristic pack activities. The elders were still upset about the human recent attacks and needed Ashton to do something about fortification of the borders.

Gwenn has done hers. The first thing I did was to go through the records and select the list of potential new council members, Gwenn did the final selection and then I went around creating new legions, I did four more because I knew we would need more warriors to help with the new dangers that were arising. These warriors were sent to deal with the occasional sighting of a creature thought to either be extinct or mythical. When it was too much to handle, my wife was called. Adela was no longer around, going back to wherever she came from and I was a little bit glad about that but it just meant that Gwenn was to go alone for her missions because her companions were gone.

Gwen leaned forward slightly, her attention fully on me. “One day, she left,” I said, my voice tightening a bit. “She didn’t tell Lucian, didn’t tell anyone. She went after the pack that had raided hers, planning to attack them on her own.” Gwen’s eyes widened. “Alone?” I nodded. “Yeah. Alone. She thought she could handle it, but… it was a suicide mission. Lucian found out she was missing and went after her, but by the time he reached her… it was too late.”

Gwen had sent someone neutral—someone uninvolved with Adrian, Ethan, or any of her past troubles. When they reached the address Gwen has sent, a strange sense of surrealism washed over her. The building was unremarkable, small, and quiet. Safe. Leila exited the car, gripping her bag’s strap tightly. The door swung open before she could knock. Gwen stood there, her hair pulled back in a messy bun, dark eyes scanning Leila with keen eyes that made her feel truly seen. “Hey,” Gwen greeted her softly. Leila swallowed hard. “Hey.”

What's the big deal?” Greg looked up from his video game and asked Caddie and Gamma Paul Wilkins, who were in the Alpha’s office, going through the formations to defend all the borders. “Just chill, you guys! If worse comes to worst, that asshole dies. Good riddance, as Matilda says.” Gwen was out to meet the volunteers and warriors who were in charge of herding the civilians to bunkers in case there was an infiltration. She was sure she wouldn’t let it happen, but Alpha Gwen was not one to take chances.

Aiden said as he eyed them sternly, making them all to freeze except for Ashley who mildly gasped. "Aiden!" Gwen hissed sharply under her breath. He looked at them once more scornfully before looking away. Gwen faced them again and gave a light chuckle. "He's just kidding around," she said, trying her best to allay their fears. Suzanne looked at Aiden as he turned a page of his book again. He looked serious. She gulped. "But I'm sure you'll all be ready for him. Anyway, that aside, you have your first mission today!" Gwen said cheerfully.

" I say quietly, making my way in the direction of the cemetery. "You know I'm more careful than that. I can't simply take your word for it. She will be followed until I feel necessary." Amil says firmly before hanging up on me. I sigh and put my phone back into my pocket. I want to help Emily and get Trevor myself however I know Amil would never allow it. The gang made a vow to never get into any trouble unless it's one of Amil's orders. It's his way of keeping us all in line and avoided unnecessary trouble with rival gang members.

Gwen muttered with a frown. If she failed this mission, she'd be reprimanded and lose her mentor's trust. "Wherever you are, I'll find you," she said coldly. "And when I do, I'll grind your bones to dust. A half-breed of the Drake family like you isn't meant to exist." Once Queenie confirmed Gwen had left Javonbury, she contacted Ashton. "Ms. Nolan, what's up?" Ashton asked, caught off guard as he made his way to the Skybound Club in Linton Island. He hadn't expected her to call at a time like this.
