But at least three others, their elongated limbs and glowing eyes unmistakable. They moved with an unsettling grace, speaking in low murmurs in a language I didn’t understand. Kade’s grip on my wrist tightened. He leaned in close, his breath warm against my ear. “We can’t go back. We have to go through.” A chill ran down my spine. “Are you insane? We’ll be caught.”
