Kiara roared as she lunged swiftly towards the witch who had fallen her father like a tree in the way. “Don't be silly, girl.” The witch said as she pushed her hands forward, causing Kiara to stop in her tracks by an invisible force. “You will do no such thing.” The witch raised her hand high and with it, Kiara found that her body had suddenly become too light for gravity. Her feet had been lifted off the ground and she was now floating in the air. “Put me now!” Kiara barked as she dangled her feet, trying yet failing to get back to the ground.

Their growls filled the room. Forrest’s fingers relaxed, untangling from my hair. I tore my gaze away from Lysander to glance at the dark witch. I registered the wicked joy in his icy eyes right before his palm slammed into my chest hard enough to lift my feet from the floor. I gasped. My body sailed right through the open window, then I fell. Fresh, salty air blew my hair upward, past my face, as I plummeted toward the rocks below. A weightlessness settled over me. The ocean’s roar grew louder. My gaze fixed on the overcast, charcoal-grey sky.

Maria shouted. Hailey gritted her teeth, trying to recall what this witch was trying to make her remember. “You're not weak!” Maria shouted. “You're a powerful woman not the weak vegetable they take you for!” Hailey's heart skipped a beat. She wasn't weak? Did that mean she was someone else? The voices began chanting Zira again, making Hailey's body tremble.
