The journey had commenced at 6 in the morning, and now, after enduring the discomfort of the ride, I had reached my destination: Kappa. One of the barangay of Sagrado. Kappa is the first barangay of Sagrado, situated near the borders from other cities. Kappa is the largest barangay in Sagrado and hosts a sizable population. This barangay is where all rice in the whole Sagrado and other cities has been yielded. Kappa is a well-off but wordless barangay. Not because they are humble but the residents here kept a certain distance from interactions with humans. Kappa was, after all, a haven for werewolves—a secret that our pack or barangay held close.

Someone approached the Kappa in human form, his voice revealing his own unease. "I thought this was meant to be a surprise party," the Kappa stammered, his words laden with dread as he seemed to recognise the gravity of his mistake. However, before he could apologise or explain, the man who had approached him swiftly ended his life, his throat slit in a gruesome act. A wave of sorrow for the young Kappa's fate washed over me; he had been a pawn in someone else's game, misled by their sinister designs.

Hughes stood in attention as he respects the Witch of Neverwhere. “Madam Hasse,”, he lowered his gaze as if to bow. “She is Selina, the heir of Kósmima.” The old woman chuckled. Selena meanwhile, was left baffled by what Hughes said. “Or that is what you might think she is.”

WITH ONLY one day left to Halloween, the people of Cape Cod were already setting into the mood of the Oktoberfest event. House yards were filled with spooky figures like white cloths to represent ghosts and the jack-o'-lanterns of course. Jake had stashed the book inside a compartment in his room, hoping the degenerate creatures of the dark would not find it. Certainly, there had to be a way to destroy all of them with the book and not just lifting it up in front of them when they showed up.

I hug my arms around her waist and hide my face in her neck. "Mack," Anita asks in a concerned whisper as my tears roll down her skin. "I'm three hundred eighteen years old, half human half vampire.
