As a result, he had the nickname Big Silly Hughes when he first started out. However, as he continued to rise up the ranks, no one dared to mention that insulting nickname again.

~Nick~ The name’s Nick Gracen, but most call me Lightning. I’m the local prez of the Wild Ridge MC Club. It’s a title that carries weight, respect, and a hell of a lot of responsibility. I looked around the clubhouse, a place that had seen more action than most could handle. The air was thick with the scent of oil, leather, and a hint of whiskey—a comforting blend that felt like home. The brothers were scattered around, some tinkering with their bikes, others deep in conversation about our latest shipment.

Then the second voice says, “Don’t be such an asshole, Harley.” Harley! I haven’t thought about Harley in a long time, but immediately his face jumps to the forefront of my mind. He was always so gentle when we were kids. He was never a part of the pack of boys who ran around picking fights, scrapping with each other. He was softer. And when he was chosen as the alpha mate to my best friend, Jessica, I was thrilled for both of them, because they both had such kind natures. It’s impossible to imagine the Harley I knew calling anyone a little bitch for wanting to eat with a fork.

I watch her all the way until she opens her door and disappears into her room. I open the door to mine and look around the basic room. First thing’s first, shower. Under the hot water I think back on the day, and I can’t help but smile. Seeing Harley surrounded by her family showed me a side of her I’d never seen before, a side I’d like to see more of. She and her father seem to talk a language of their own, and I found out it was him who got to name her; Harley, after Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

Tanner set his burger down on the polystyrene tray and leant forward, his attention fixed on me. "I pretended like I didn't recognize the girl in the photo," I replied only to continue when Tanner shot me a questioning look. "Jay and I have spent years making sure my identity is kept secret. Who knows what will happen if I reveal who I am. I mean, it's great to know what my name used to be - but I'm not April anymore. I'm Harley, and that's all I want to be."

We sat in silence as Raina continued the conversation with Lela. “Harlow and Harley are the same name, essentially. If that is the same wolf, why would she be all the way out here?” I thought aloud. This was confusing. While the names were definitely similar, if she was this far from her pack, and an omega for another pack, something was off.

“There’s no point in hiding it Harley. I have accepted my role in the Northern Province” “Sooner or later, I will find out about it” she threatened. “His name is Mills of the powerful Mills clan” Harley started. Amanda felt the air around her became thinner. How could it be? Why is it them again? When she thought she has successfully dismissed them, another link would bind them together. She was not able to hear the rest of Harley’s explanation properly. “He has a tattoo in his lower abdomen. It was Jack of diamonds” “That’s why I named the baby Jackson. Because he is a son of Jack” Harley explained further. The garden started spinning and she fell to the ground and fainted.

"Oh-oh..." When Lexie heard it she gave a deep exhale. "Okay, you catch our lies." She pulled Harley close for a hug, telling him that it was okay. That Keegan is a good friend of hers and their secret is safe with him. "Harley's real name is Cody and he is my little brother. Half-brother."

I said, shrugging as I took another large bite of pizza. “That makes sense,” Penny said, nodding. “Harley is very loyal to his friends and Xaden is his best friend.” I was impressed with how much they knew about the three of them already and I felt a bit intimidated. I wanted to know so much more about all three guys, but I knew I couldn’t without stepping on Xaden’s toes. It’s not like I could get close to Harley to learn anything about him. He won’t go anywhere near me because he’s Xaden’s best friend and he’s very loyal to his friends. I admired that about Harley and it got me wondering….
