Harry Potter Book Spine Novels & Stories

Oisin smiled down at Seraphina. Placing the stone down on the table for the other mages to marvel at, Seraphina took to looking around the room to find what else had been revealed by the syphoning spell. A large blue and gold leather-bound book caught her attention on one of the shelves. An unexplainable, almost magnetic pull drew her to it. Fingers slightly trembling, she pulled the book out and turned it over to read the cover. ‘Le haghaidh mo iníon’ She ran her fingers over the gold imprinted font, her breath hitched in her throat.

I asked with little curiosity. A boy like him shouldn't be tied to the Temple. "No, another item will replace its position. But no worries, I love my job." The book had a sorcerer’s wand coloured violet on the cover. A blue smooth bookmark was attached to it. The book's edges looked like silver but felt like liquid mercury. "You can take the shortcut at the end of this room." "Thanks," I mouthed out. I walked to the other end of the room and placed my hand on the wall, waiting for something to happen.

There were a lot of famous ones but only one caught my eye. It had a familiar spine and golden thread but this one had words running along the spine. "A witch's diary," I read. I ran my finger over the words. I instinctively closed my eyes with a gasp as a shiver fell down my spine. This book most definitely had a dark energy. I slowly removed it from the bookshelf. It had a plain black colour just like my journal. In fact it was an exact replica except for the words on the spine of the book.

Upon closer inspection, I saw a book spine glowing with my blue magic. The light vanished when I touched the book, and I read the title: Lupinotuum Encyclopaedia.

My blood rushing to warm my skin with her sudden outburst. “It’s not the spell…. it’s who wrote it. She’s a witch.” Sierra turns the book, sliding its heaviness around to face us again and taps at the bottom right of the second page somewhat excitedly; at a little symbol that looks like it was burned into the page with hot metal. It’s tiny, a small flowing L and C surrounded by a vine design that wrap it into one continuous form and is unusually pretty.

Dawn remarked when she wandered into the room one day after class to see the first Harry Potter book in the brunette’s hands. “Hadn’t had time to finish it”, Lena said. She set her book aside and picked up Goblet of Fire “I’ve marked the page you were on”, she told Dawn as she held it out to her. The teen smiled, took the book from Lena and relaxed onto her bed to start reading. Lena picked up where she left off in the novel. ~0~

(Harper’s POV) “I’m sorry, what now?” I stared at Harry, dumbfounded. He flicked through some more pages of the book and then turned it to face me. I apprehensively looked down at the book. The page was titled “Bloodline” and there was a picture of a wicked-looking blade down one side. The writing was a little faded and handwritten, but despite all that, it felt so familiar and I could read it, like it was something I had read a thousand times before.

Most of the books had scribbles but I really didn't mind as long as I could read. Something caught my eye behind a stack of Enid Blyton's books on the upper shelf. Something shiny. I wheeled back, trying to get a good look at the mysterious cover. Holy. Macaroni. Was that Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban? I just had to get that book.

“Do you have the spell book?” Hazel nodded and reached for the spell book lying on the floor. She handed it to Halle, who snatched it from her hands and immediately flipped through the pages. The room was dead silent as Halle searched the book, her eyes scanning the ancient text until she paused. Her brow furrowed, and then her expression darkened. “The page…” Halle’s voice was low, laced with fury. “It’s been torn out.” “What?” Hazel leaned closer, her eyes widening as she saw that the page with the spell she had cast was indeed missing and ripped clean from the book.

I whispered, grabbing the thick leather spine. I took it over to a nearby wooden desk and sat down. I carefully lifted the heavy, iron-bound cover, and the moment it fell open, the book reacted. The pages began to flip around wildly all by themselves, a small gust of wind whipping past my face. My eyes almost fell out of my head as the parchment blurred. So cool, Eva chimed in, her voice full of awe. The frantic flipping suddenly stopped, the book settling heavily onto a page near the center. Written boldly at the top in dark, ugly handwriting were the words: Non-Mage Bonding and Lineage Purity.
