Silver POV “MATE?!” my wolf Shadow screamed. Mate? I have a mate. This shivering and shaking girl is my mate. My wolf Shadow kept on shouting, mate, while moving around in my head. “Will you chill out!!” I yelled. “Mate! mate! mate!” He kept on chanting. I rolled my eyes. He has finally lost it. I look at my mate. I can’t see her face. Her hair is covering it. I moved closer, trying to sniff her again, but she must have thought I wanted to bite her or eat her, so she started shaking more.

He puffed his chest out, his snout tilted down as he looked me over. My legs felt heavy, like they were sinking into the mud. I wanted to cower. I didn't. I held his gaze just like Ravenna taught me. My tail brushed my legs, but I didn't back down.

The ground beneath me cracked violently, and a massive spike of dark energy erupted, aimed directly at my chest. I barely rolled aside, heart hammering but when I looked up, the shadow’s humanoid form was towering over me, fully solid, eyes glowing brighter than ever.
