The real Bella. I immediately recognized that familiar looking book. I saw it among Bella's book collection when I first came into this world. It stood out due to its large size. But I had never opened it before. The title of that book was 'The Darkest Art.' I mean, even the title was suspicious. So what do you expect me to do? Call me silly, but I learned from 'Harry Potter' not to open any suspicious looking book. Who knows what's inside? Considering Bella's character, it could be housing the soul of a random dark lord for all I know. So, of course I didn't want to take the risk.

Once I reached home I had already prepared myself to open it but I had to savour the moment of having the first magic book in the world. It was created by the first ever sorcerer, Gwydion the first. He had created this book of spells for the future generations of sorcerers but sorcerers and sorceresses got extinct ever since the plague. A wizard, Alizon, translated the book in such a way that any magic-possessing creature would be able to use the book effectively. The book was said to be lost after the first war of the Seven kingdoms. But it wasn't, Alizon hid it in Udhanba, one of the Seven kingdoms, in an abandoned temple and was killed right after that.

Slowly it changes shape and form and after a millennium, the first sphere transformed into a human shape. The image that he saw is a person draped in black cloth from head to toe. You couldn't even see his face clearly since he has a hood on and only his lips and chin are visible. But even though you could only see his lips and chin, you can tell that this person is divine. There are chains around his body like an ornament, and a black book hanging on his neck. When he saw this person, he felt connected to him. The hooded guy grabbed the book chained to his body and opened it in an act to read while waiting for something out of boredom.

He hurried to it and pulled it open just far enough to see who was on the other side. Lila’s whisper was hard and urgent as she said, “Let us in.” He immediately obeyed by opening the door just far enough to allow her to slip in. Benjamin’s larger frame forced him to pull it just a bit further open before slamming it shut immediately after he’d entered the room. “This is Ben,” she offered as she moved to the center of the room. Jasper and Benjamin greeted each other with stern expressions and a curt nod. Without hesitation, the warlock produced a slender bottle containing white granules that Jasper thought might be salt and created a circle around himself.

He must know for sure now that she was lying. “It has your name in it. It is yours, right?” She nodded, surveying it. It was all there. She had forgotten about it. “There were some loose pages. I gathered them all up and put them back in. I hope I got them all,” he said. “You did,” she said softly, touched, embarrassed. “I followed the trail of pages, and the funny thing is….they lead me down the alley.” She continued to look down at the book, refusing to make eye contact.

She glances at the other vamps and wolves around me. “Only you.” She turns and steps behind the cloth. I follow but as I step through the cloth, I start falling. The ground swallows me whole. I feel like Alice from that stupid book Kim made me read. Falling down a rabbit hole. Only there are no tables or beds falling with me. Only dirt and the occasional worm. I land quite gracefully on the soft earth in a hollowed out cavern in the earth. “Neat skill.” My voice is absorbed into the damp earth.

**Thea** The first thing I felt was sore. Then nausea. I thought about opening my eyes but decided to wait a few moments. Something had happened. Then it all came flooding back, gaining control of my mage powers, shifting for the first time, Atlas carrying me…I decided to finally open my eyes. I did so slowly, squinting at the bright light. As the room came into focus, I saw Bessie was sitting in front of me. Concern covered her face.

He would take over all universes and no one but me would be able to stop him. The problem is would I be able to. I set the papers on my lap just in case. I looked at the book and I had to close my eyes. There were tabs marking certain pages. I would look to see what he marked off before trying to tap into the magic. I skimmed through the book to the first tab. (Unbreakable wards.) Was the first spell he was looking at. I had to leave sooner than now, I should've left yesterday because if he got these wards up only my full magic could break them and that would take time that I most likely would never get.

There were cobwebs everywhere, and I was not shocked because no one was in a hurry to learn that. Setting my satchel down on a nearby table, I pulled out the spell book and flipped to the chapter on protection. The symbols and instructions stared back at me looking very foreign. I ran my fingers over the pages, tracing the intricate designs as I whispered the first few words of the spell. I felt the air charge around me and for the first time in days, I felt a flicker of hope.
