The whispers started again and my focus reverted back to it. I had only been a few hours in and this book had taught me spells I never knew existed in my life. The baffling things were it felt like this book was made for me, an extension to my life. I had also found the ritual process and ingredients for the Alpha’s curse. It could have made me happy but there was a major problem. I was still engulfed in my thoughts when I suddenly saw Alpha Hansel standing before my table. Finally, her mother leaves her to her peace. She wonders what kind of book she has picked up; it could be some sort of mysterious book that would lead her to great magic. Flinging herself onto the bed, she turns the book to a random page and reads:

Harry rolls his eyes but complies to her demand. After a few minutes of flicking through pages Cam smiles and closes the book with a soft thud.

As Peter grappled with Roy, I moved into position, ready to pour the potion on the limbs that did not belong to him. Just when I thought everything was going smoothly, my lack of confidence and a moment's hesitation caused me to pause for a second behind Roy. That one-second delay was all it took for Roy to notice me. He threw Harry and Peter aside and turned to face me. In a panic, I hurled the potion at him, but he dodged it, and the liquid spilled onto the ground. The potion I had waited three days for was wasted due to my hesitation, and everyone's hopes were dashed by my own hands.
