Conan steps back, shaking his head. “Yellow wolfsbane? Are you insane?” he snaps. “That’s banned under the Accords. It’s the most dangerous poison known to werewolves—lethal in even the smallest dose. Its use is punishable by death!”

“They got here before we did, they must’ve had a tip that we were coming and cleared out the place. Although we were able to get our hands on something they forgot to clear out this-“ he waved one of the guys over and he rushed to us with a small dirty box. He unlocked it and pushed it opened, it looked like it hadn’t been used on the outside for many years and then on the inner it was a casing with tiny bottles tagged with labels. “What are these?” Henry asked squinting down to take a better look at the box. “Wolfsbane.” “I don’t understand, why is it in small tubes like this?” Henry’s questions aligned with mine as I stared. It wasn’t a surprise that they had it but something didn’t add up

Speaking of wolves, I remembered mine and called out to her in my mind, but Maya would not answer back, making me worry. It was uncharacteristic of Maya to be silent in times of danger. Or maybe, it was the Wolfsbane doing. I wonder. “Maya?” I searched for her in my mind and was greeted with cold silence, causing panic to rise on me. Then I raked my mind, trying to feel her. I sensed more than I felt her. It was faint, but it was Maya. She must be too weakened by the Wolfsbane. Wolfsbane is very potent and has the potential to harm or cause death when exposed to it.

I asked. He shook his head. "I don't remember everything. I only remember… Blurry fragments. And a herb called Wolfsbane. Thinking about it makes my head hurt." I looked it up. Wolfsbane was the kind of herb that werewolves feared the most. Just touching it was enough to cause pain and even get poisoned. I panicked a little and warned him, "If you ever see that herb, avoid it. Don't touch it." He nodded but did not say more.

JJ nodded solemnly, a grim look on his face. "Yes. With Wolfsbane. It was... most likely spiked in your drink." The name of the poisonous plant made my heart drop, an icy chill crawling up my spine. Wolfsbane. Infamous for its lethal impact on werewolves, capable of inducing agonizing pain and even death. The enormity of the situation hit me, nearly taking my breath away.

Roman cussed but still tried to come to terms with the plan “It worked didn’t it?
