someone yelled. "Try it!" Victor snatched a rifle out of a soldier's hands and snapped it over his knee. He grabbed the man by the throat and hurled him into a group of his comrades. "You’re fighting for a world that’s already dead! Look up, you idiots!" The sky above London was no longer blue. It was a jagged mosaic of amber and violet. The buildings of the city were stretching, their windows turning into eyes. The "Hatching" was entering its final stage.

A tomb. Sabatine pushed past him, holstering his weapon. He shoved the torch into Anton’s hand. “Hold this.” He placed both palms flat on the cold metal, braced his legs against the stairs, and pushed with his whole body, a low, guttural sound of effort tearing from his throat. The muscles in his back and shoulders corded, visible even through his torn jacket. With a shriek of protesting metal and a shower of rotten leaves and dirt, the hatch gave way, swinging upward into the sweet, shocking cold of open night.

The rain in Chapter One had been a backdrop for fear. It was cold, confusing, and overwhelming. The rain in Chapter Seventy-Eight was just weather. Sorry, Scott.” He hefts and throws the silver-bladed hatchet at his brother and it strikes Scott in the back with a dull thud. Scott straightens with a yelp that sounds more pissed than hurt. Smoke pours out around the hatchet and a hot sizzling fills the air as the silver blade sags and melts against Scott’s flesh. Sparks and small, greenish flames sprout from the wound, and rivulets of liquid silver run down Scott’s back and legs.

They were nearing the end of the valley and yet they still hadn’t seen their scouts report back. They should have returned by now. Harper became even more alert as she drew her weapon and raised her shield. Just as they reached the end of the valley and the fog had begun to look they say a body strung up to a pole. Harper rushed forward only to find it was George’s body no longer alive he has a deep gash across his chest.

Chase squeezed my sister's neck tighter then with one swift movement he ripped the heart from one of the guards. Everyone gasp, watching in horror as the man's still beating heart slipped from Chase's fingertips. He was ruthless, savage. He would kill us all and that soup will take out all thirteen packs. I hated these people, I hated my life, but I wouldn't let them die. I ran to the large pot of soup sitting over a roaring fire and pushed it with everything I had. I felt Athena behind me, pushing as hard as she could to break the bonds we were place in. The bowl tipped and hot liquid poured over Chase.

We got out of the car, and the fresh mountain air enveloped us as we walked towards the Hut's entrance. Hunter reached out, and I promptly grabbed his hand, our fingers intertwining in a union reflecting the journey we shared. Anxiety filled my chest as the crucial moment approached. Hunter would finally meet our children, and the triplets would have a chance to discover the father they longed for. The longing for the boys weighed on my heart, and I wondered how they were coping with this turn of events. The forest seemed to vibrate with a mix of anticipation and uncertainty. I stood with the others, rifle up, body moving like muscle memory. Doc signaled. Houseshoe rose. Surgeon rolled his shoulders once. Pattycake’s jaw clenched. Jethro’s eyes went flat and focused. Tombstone slid into position like he was born there.
