The villa began painting the walls of a new haunted house. A heavy morning after a terrifying night. Morning at that villa was unlike any other. Even with the sunrise, it couldn't erase the traces of the terror that had filled the house the previous night. Its golden rays timidly peeked through the heavy curtains, as if afraid to intrude upon a place that had witnessed unspeakable psychological horror lurking in the darkness.

"Well, at least I'm pretty." "Yes, yes, you are." Jessie smiled at her. They entered the first part of the haunted house, where a large shape shifter jumped out at them. Then shifted to a half spider, half horse. After that, someone with a bloody chainsaw and a head in hand came running towards them. "I don't see how you are not scared." Kimmy clung to Jessie. "After all that I have been through, this is like child's play." Kimmy screamed as the lights went off and something grabbed her.

Jon only gave me a brief side glance, almost looking askance at me, but said nothing and continued to drive deeper into the woods. The cabin was now beyond a humble abode, to me the brown wooden structure tarnished with white and black from failed attempts to revive its derelict appearance with paint, resembled those haunted cabins in the woods in horror movies and those cabins were infamous for many things- none of which are pleasant. I felt like I was walking into some deformed serial killer's lair or into a domain for creatures of the night and supernatural entities; ghosts, vampires and wicked witches with an appetite for human flesh.

Out of all the unnerving things that could happen in a haunted house, the most unnerving thing is silence, and that was exactly what Joe came home to a few hours later. The garden was quiet, and no sounds from the whippers, no chainsaws, and there was no one on the porch. Everything was just silent. A minibus stopped close behind him and the doors opened cautiously. Joe looked around him and then he felt a presence close by. “Are these the volunteers?” it asked.

"Hey, what kind of house is this?" Juliette inquired as Andrew brought the car to a halt. The mansion before her loomed large, but an eerie feeling permeated the air. It was as if a sense of darkness lingered, or something crucial was amiss, yet the silence enveloped the place like a desolate graveyard. "Follow me..." Andrew instructed, his voice commanding. Juliette observed him striding towards the front door, his hands casually tucked into his pockets. An involuntary scoff escaped her lips as she reluctantly trailed after him. As she entered, her annoyance only intensified upon reaching the living area and spotting a portrait hanging prominently on the wall.

The haunted house was everything the reviews promised: pitch-black corridors, fog machines choking the air with cold mist, chainsaws revving somewhere in the distance, and actors jumping out with perfect timing to make my heart slam against my ribs.
