The Secretly Rich Man

The Secretly Rich Man

wailed the terrified Xareni as she instantly ran toward Haven and hid behind her. As Xareni stared at Gerald with fearful eyes from behind Haven, Haven herself said, “G-Gerald… I know what my father did was wrong… But he wasn’t in the right mind when he agreed with the plan! Here, I’ve brought the Book of Beasts along with me! You can have but please, please let my family go…” Now already in tears, she then walked toward Gerald with the book in hand. “D-don’t, Haven! He’ll kill you!” pleaded Xareni as she grabbed on to her sister’s arm.

It's a good book as far as I have read so far. I'm getting discouraged, though. I'm running out of patience and time for these types of stories. "Neverending" stories where some chapters repeat themselves for some reason or other drives me bunkers. Just saying. I prefer shorter stories.

The Reaver Chronicles: Raziel (Book 1)

The Reaver Chronicles: Raziel (Book 1)

I sucked it up quickly, and decided it was pointless to beat around the bush. "I was hoping that I would be able to read a book with information on Reavers. I don't know much about them, but if I may be one, I think I have a right to know more." I said, hoping he would know what book I meant, this being a dream and all. "You mean the book from the other day?" He questioned, as he snapped his fingers and produced a book with a silver spine. It was the exact book from my last dream. I longed to get my hands on it.

Captured by the Alpha King

Captured by the Alpha King

Without looking to Owen for confirmation, I say, “We do. Please, explain.” She opens her bag and removes a few tattered paperbacks. The spines are unreadable, they’ve been cracked in so many places. One is missing a cover. All of them have a forest of neon tabs jutting out from their sides. I hear Hannah’s audible gasp of delight and admiration. I’m surprised she doesn’t ask for the brand, style, and inventory number of the tabs. “Our pack is so obsessed with the story of our origins, that we ignore the story of our ending.” She opens one of the books and it lays flat, pages perilously close to falling out. There’s a woodcut illustration of Fenrir devouring Odin.

A fate unplanned

A fate unplanned

“Forget I asked that. You should go home and get your things ready. We'll leave in the next hour” He said and she nodded. While they were speaking, Raven stood by a window upstairs, watching them. Her face didn't hold and expression that could be read but one could tell she was thinking about something. Haven rushed home, happy that the moon goddess finally answered her prayers for the first time in her life. She wasn't sure of what life awaits her in the lycans pack, but she knew she didn't want to remain here for even a second more. She didn't have much to take, she just picked a few clothes and books. She didn't take any pictures as all she had was the ones she took with her family when s

A TWENTY SOMETHING

A TWENTY SOMETHING

HANA Bash pinned me with the same cold stare he gave me the last time we met. Even in that coldness, I found comfort in his green eyes, green like the ocean, like a forest, like home, like the universe, my universe. "Mr. Merrick. Good morning." I gave him my best professional smile. Dhalia smiled, tucking the strands of her blond hair behind her ears. "She is Hana Levine. I think you should be acquainted with each other since she will be replacing me starting next month."

I read Ruthless...2 years ago I guess...loved that story so much. Now I myself an author on Goodnovel XD. I am glad you are progressing as an author. Just a friendly advice, improve your cover game. Make a trendy cover to fetch readers. I'll read this book and I know I am gonna live it.

The Compound (The Compound series book1)

The Compound (The Compound series book1)

Hannah was a clean we picked up about a month ago on a long mission that had ended in disaster, huge fucking epic disaster. The mission had started out like any other and progressed the way we all expected it to, until we found Hannah and her brother Danny klein. Then things had turned to shit fast. From overheard conversations and our own observations we had figured there was an imminent attack on the compound and high tailed it back. We made it in time but the infected still managed to get around our defenses, attacking from below and striking at the heart of our community. A lot of lives had been lost that day, including Wheeler.

She held it against her chest, hugging it tightly. “I didn’t write those stories about you,” she said, her voice trembling. “But you were thinking about someone,” he said, taking a step closer. “And some of those scenes… they weren’t innocent.” She wrapped her arms tighter around the book. “It’s none of your business.” He gave a slow smirk. “Maybe it isn’t. But now I can’t stop wondering.” Ava turned and walked away quickly. She went up the stairs and didn’t look back. But her hands were shaking again. And this time… so was something deeper. Something she didn’t want to name.

A Veil of Ash and Glass

A Veil of Ash and Glass

He severed the obvious routes, the ones Henri would expect him to take, and built a quieter net. Disturbances were easier to trust than people. A hallway light that dimmed at the same hour for three nights. A clean absence where magic should have left residue and didn’t because the person making it no longer expelled power the way novices did. She was learning. Noah’s hands were steady as he spread maps across his desk. Henri found him there near midnight. He didn’t knock. Of course, he didn’t. “You are being reckless, Noah,” Henri said, stepping into the lamplight.

Omega (Book 1)

Omega (Book 1)

How on Earth could he survive in the wild woods for three days and night if wasn't physically prepared? Harold grabbed a moist, oxblood handkerchief that had become a rag off a small shelf and ran it over the book he had in his hands instinctively. When the book's cover was squeaky clean, he placed it on top of another and sighed again, this time because he was mentally drained than physically. “What do I do now?” Harold asked his Geography lecturer softly, not knowing what his response will be. He picked up another book and curiously stared at its name, Anthony Jarvis’ ‘Greenland’. He grabbed the same moist rag and performed the same action he had the last time like a spell-bounded fellow,

Omega (Book 2)

It was going to be worse. For the umpteenth time that afternoon, Harold placed his hand on his bag and sluggishly pulled it along, behind him, as he walked to the hostel's entrance. When Harold got to the door, he sighed and paused for a while as he remembered how the trouble began last session, in his first year. Just like this session was turning out to be, it was on the day of his arrival.
