Into The Light
The next morning, the nurse helped me change into a hospital gown and gently took my hand.
“Let’s go, Ella. Time for the first procedure and the injection. You’ll be able to see very soon.”
I nodded and took my first steps toward the light.
Meanwhile, the Mercer estate was in absolute chaos. The man sitting in the center of the room looked grim, as if dark clouds were looming over him.
Standing beside him, his assistant wiped the sweat from his brow and said, “Mr. Shawn, we still haven’t found her.”
Shawn glared at his assistant. The surrounding guards flinched instantly, one of them rushing to explain.
