The Assistant Coach
The puck flies past me and into the goal, the sound of cheers filling the rink.
Tim studies the goal with a grin, and I can't help but laugh at him picturing a way to score a goal on me. "Good work today, you bunch of misfits," I say with a smirk as I dramatically throw off my helmet, revealing my messy curly hair underneath.
The guys all stare at me in shock as they slowly remove their own helmets, looking like a pack of lost puppies.
"But let's not get ahead of ourselves, you all still suck," I continue, unable to resist the urge to add a little dig. Their eyes collectively roll, and I can practically hear the internal groans.
